Lovely to have lunch with colleagues from @psychologybath.bsky.social yesterday! @harrietrose.bsky.social @sophiedallison.bsky.social and others all working as part of the @nihr.bsky.social Mental Health Research Group :-)
We need to involve people from all communities in mental health research.
It’s #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek and the theme this year is COMMUNITY.

Do you struggle with low mood, stress and worrying?
Check out Project YES. You can choose from three single session interventions which could help you to learn more about dealing with low mood, stress, and worry
Each online single session intervention will take about 15 mins

Future Proofing Study: a cluster randomised controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of a universal school-based cognitive–behavioural programme for adolescent depression
This is a *key* new paper in the world of school mental health interventions
A very large trial (N=6388) testing a universal CBT-based app for adolescent depression (13-14y)

Very pleased to see this paper published open access in BMC Psychology today, where we interviewed 24 young people to discover their thoughts towards online single-session interventions. It is the FIRST qualitative paper to focus on SSIs in UK-based young people 🤯

🌟 Exciting News! Our study on our method of Gillick Competence assessment in online, anonymous surveys is published! Empowering 13-15-year-olds to self-consent could overcome barriers to low risk, impactful mental health intervention research. Learn more: bmjopen.bmj.com/content/15/3...
Check out this blog @nataliakika.bsky.social and I wrote recently for parents @wellatschool.bsky.social about where UK teens look for mental health information and support online
Excited to share a pre-print of the latest paper from the Can We Connect study, where we explore young people’s attitudes towards single session interventions.
Despite all the available literature on SSIs, this seems to be the first in-depth, qualitative study! Feedback welcome 👇🏽

Join our young person’s advisory group to help our research on online mental health support for young people. We are researchers in the SpotLight on Adolescent Mood Problems (LAMP) research group at University of Bath. We aim to improve access to early help for young people’s mental health. We are looking for young people aged 13 - 25, based in the UK to join our group. You don’t need any experience of mental health problems to contribute. We are interested in hearing from everyone. We are particularly looking for: young people aged 19 - 25, LGBTQ+ young people aged 13 - 25, Ethnic minority young people aged 13 - 25. As a YPAG member, you will join our mailing list and be contacted about opportunities to share feedback on our research studies. You can provide your input by email, through surveys or by joining online meetings. If you are interested in joining, or finding out more, visit bit.ly/LAMP-ypag or scan the QR code

Really interesting review with valuable recommendations to improve co-production and co-design with young people - super relevant to our group’s YPAG work @marialoades.bsky.social @sophiedallison.bsky.social!
Calling all UK-based parents of teens! Help us explore how and where parents look for help online when they become worried about their teen’s mental health - the findings will help us design our single-session intervention to support parents 💻please email us lamp@bath.ac.uk to take part!
Thank you Maria! Exciting to see community forming over here on Blueksy
I'm working as a research assistant and doing my PhD with LAMP, where I am researching how digital single session interventions could improve access to mental health support for young people from the global majority 🌎
