If Trump always TACOs he wouldn't have attacked Iran in the first place.

The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.
Perfect analogy for vote counting.
Pat Sajak never once thought there would be a phrase with no vowels because nobody bought one.
The letters you choose first in Wheel of Fortune don't change what's going to be on the board in the end.
yiiiikes
Nobody is “winning” a race while votes are being counted. The 2020 Lie rests on this.
While votes are being counted, we really need new language.
The current common language makes it sound like one outcome or the other is “catching up” or “losing ground,” when what’s really happening is more like the existing results are coming into focus, one small patch at a time.
IF YOU’RE IN LINE TO GET CONTROL OF THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ, STAY IN LINE
Let's call this policy what this is.
It's socialism. It's Leftism. And it's curing actual ills. Righting institutional wrongs.
It's not coming from someone who is infallible, or someone who is always correct.
It's coming from someone who promised to help and is trying to keep those promises.
Thirteen U.S. troops died trying to get these people to safety — Afghan interpreters, soldiers, and the families of our service members. Veterans spent sleepless nights during the chaotic withdrawal fighting to keep them alive. Now our own government is going to abandon them.
Yeah, you’re solving for a different bucket of problems. Suggestion: uninstall. 😀
Part of the point of using an open platform is that opportunities for customization are infinite. You could make an app view that is entirely offline, it just mails you postcards with skeets of people you follow.
You are free to use Bluesky without any of those. Building a web app to navigate Bluesky without infinite scrolling is relatively easy. You could even just make it email you like 10 skeets a day or whatever instead of browsing at all.
The best part is you can do that while I use the app.
Lmao we’re posting on a non-monetized platform where you can use a client without infinite scrolling and without any algorithm* if you want.
* “chronological” is an algorithm. Any mechanism that displays posts is an algorithm.
This is so heinous, I do not know what to say. This shit devastates me.

Absolute fantasy.
The German authorities regulate the fat content and that it must be served quickly after preparation, I guess parasites are caveat emptor?
Many states have structurally enshrined one-party rule at the state level.
The playing field in Mississippi has never been level.
** 2006-10-31: The default prefix used to be "sqlite_". But then ** Mcafee started using SQLite in their anti-virus product and it ** started putting files with the "sqlite" name in the c:/temp folder. ** This annoyed many windows users. Those users would then do a ** Google search for "sqlite", find the telephone numbers of the ** developers and call to wake them up at night and complain. ** For this reason, the default name prefix is changed to be "sqlite" ** spelled backwards. So the temp files are still identified, but ** anybody smart enough to figure out the code is also likely smart ** enough to know that calling the developer will not help get rid ** of the file. */ #ifndef SQLITE_TEMP_FILE_PREFIX # define SQLITE_TEMP_FILE_PREFIX "etilqs_" #endif
Here is an insane piece of lore inside SQLite's source code
I am researching VACUUM and I was studying their code. In VACUUM, SQLite creates a temp file prefixed with `etilqs_`
Here is why:
If not confirmed your keeping the Pedophiles investment vehicles????
See how that sounds?
As always: a thread on highlights from @ember-energy.org Nerd Easter global power sector data review!
With lots of good news, some noticeable kinda bad news, and a few things I think are missing from the picture. TY to Ember, this is such a valuable piece of work
Solar power's 2025 growth was the largest annual increase of any electricity source ever, outside of coal's post-Covid rebound Year-on-year change in electricity generation, 2005-2025 (TWh) Highlighted bars = top 5 years of growth (with ranking labelled above) Solar Wind Hydro 500 0 5th 2nd 2005 Nuclear 2025 2005 Coal 2025 2005 Gas 2025 500 0 4th 3rd 1st: The largest single-source change was a rebound from Covid-19 2005 2025 2005 2025 2005 2025 Source: Yearly electricity data, Ember Changes before 2005 were smaller than in this period due to the smaller size of the overall power system EMBER
Solar's growth from 2024 to 2025 was basically the highest growth of anything ever, with the exception of coal's post-covid rebound which I think you'll agree kinda doesn't really count
Most of the people who talk about algorithms in social feeds are about eliminating them.
Better: improve them. Algorithms can serve the user instead of the shareholders.
surely no army in military history has ever been laid low by disease, a famously uncommon problem among people living in enforced close quarters
Epstein Administration, truly.
wild to think that if smallpox hadn't been eradicated it too would be making a comeback
One of the cool things about Bluesky is that it’s easy to switch between pure firehose chronological and e.g. the Quiet Posters feed.
By modifying the architecture, I really mean designing around rationed cron, rationed memory, and rationed compute.
It’s like building for an embedded device: you’re not targeting the cutting edge.
Hypothesis is this thinking translates to how you think about the app.
