Seeing people sitting on the grass at the commons today made it feel like winter is gone! Touching grass is nice, but I feel that the commons has a major lack of public seating. Lots of people sitting on the ballfield benches.
Would love to see a section of tables/chairs or picnic tables.

Since then, on the peninsula, I believe 1 actual condo was built. NRTH on Bilby street. And there's only 1 under construction in HRM right now, Navy Lane on Gottingen/Maitland. As someone condo shopping on the peninsula I take every chance I can to correct people on this
Sam just said almost exactly this! I had to rewind and see if he said exactly what you posted lmao
Seems like all drivers need to do to get things their way in this city is to blatantly ignore the unenforced rules and physically destroy stuff like this. So frustrating
For real. Imagine if the parking lot currently in the middle was a pedestrian plaza. Would be an amazing retail experience
I'm always so happy to see new unions forming in my city, this was such great news (less than a month ago). To me it feels like a blatant retaliation, and an attempt to send a message. They will never get a dollar from me
Routine Halifax reminder that The Forum re-build could make the podium into the recreational space and then put a residential tower on top to help cover costs of the project while also creating homes for people.
But we're over here worried about bricks and parking.
I've been waiting for the additional flexposts. A couple cheap pieces of plastic go a long way for the safety of cyclists in this case! Not perfect but much much better
Iconic cartoon showing a single driver in a wide car taking up most of the street space. With many people crammed into the bus, bike and pedestrian space left over. Someone later added a voice box with the driver saying “Damn those bike paths and bus lanes taking all the space!”
This iconic Fabian Todorovic cartoon is still one of the best I’ve seen at illustrating the remarkable amount of space we surrender to cars, leaving little space left for everyone and everything else. The text added later makes the bonus point that many drivers still manage to complain about it.
Hot take, people who hate cities shouldn’t be in charge of cities
