Did you know? On the corner of Pentonville Road and Islington High Street stood an inn called the Sheepcote. Outside its door hung a sign featuring a painting of the Angel of the Annunciation. That sign is the source of the name Angel.

Hannah Spencer MP in her maiden speech in Parliament:

"Our struggles may be different, but our humanity is the same. We always stick together, we always fight for each other.

James Barry - 1st plaque To date, no image of this plaque has been found. We thank Steve Roffey for his work on the history of this plaque. See also Wikipedia’s page of lost English Heritage plaques.

The painter James Barry died today 220 years ago. More than 80 years later a plaque was erected on his house, which was demolished 40-odd years later. Result: another lost plaque. There is a contemporary drawing of the dilapidated house.

Mandelson’s malign influence runs right through the heart of this Government.

Not least in the govt’s NHS data deal with Palantir – a spy-tech firm co-founded by a man who thinks the NHS should be ‘ripped up.’

I've written to Wes Streeting urging him to ditch this dangerous deal.
