Provided is a definition for this year’s theme on “reverse tropes (noun)”, which is “a trope that is altered in a way such that it departs from the expectations of the original. Often results in unique and new possibilities. Ex. ‘The lovers become enemies in this story’.” The example is a reversal of the popular trope of “enemies to lovers”.
