Once I did that I got this screen. I guess changing that messes up the sync for composite video, but would work with an RGB mod? Found another write-up that changes a lot more to convert to NTSC.

Replaced the crystal, seems to be a small difference, but now much. But checking the write-up I found, I also need to lift and connect some pins of an IC named PCZ80.

Going to do the crystal mod to convert the PAL #turbografx from 50Hz to 60Hz. Will be replacing the 21.32825 MHz crystal at X201 with a 21.47727 MHz crystal. Made a video for reference. Using the 240p Test Suite lag test. In original state 10s on screen takes about 12s to run. #tg16 #turbografx16

Couldn't easily find something similar on Aliexpress for the thermostat so I ended up buying one on the local marketplace for 40eur. Saved myself some $$$

270.665 pts on the 2500ft Challenge Mode. I thought there was a bonus for collecting all the air capsules, but every time I think I got all the air capsules I do 't see any additional bonus.

Playing some Mr.Driller with #retroachievements on hard mode. Managed to get rank 31 on normal survival mode (USA). Anyone here like to play #mrdriller? #gameboycolor #namco

Never mind, saw you did. But maybe try higher rated caps (on the GND and VCC)?

Did you also recap the CD drive PCB? You can try using higher voltage rated caps to try and reduce the noise

I didn't have a problem with sound while reading CDs, but a general sound problem. So I just listened to the startup sound.

And yes, this means that if you do not clean your #quooker vat once in a while, you are drinking that shit when you make yourself a cup of tea or noodles. Can't be healthy.

PA for those who have these (viva la instant noodles, tea and shorter pasta cooking time!) Clean the Vat from time to time, it will have a build-up of burnt limescale inside. The photo shows what was inside mine after 11 years of use. There was considerably more crap in the 2nd hand one I bought.

I could have bought the inner part from #quooker with the pump and heating element for 150-180eur, not compatible with my model and ripped out the thermostat, but that would feel wrong. So 40eur, 30min drive it was. Local online marketplace. Problem solved!

After some useful info from Claude, I measured the thermostat rod and the safety cutout (the 2 red wires) were always open. That seemed to be the problem. Checked the local online marketplace and found someone selling an even older model and bought and picked it up for 40eur.

Took the damn thing apart, checked the PCB, measured stuff as far as I could understand. Everything seemed OK. Used Claude to get info on some of the parts, then measured again. All seemed OK, from what I understand, which is not a lot...

I have not. My TG16 was a gift from an US friend about 25 years ago. But can you really put a price on love? :)

Me vs. Quooker, 1 -0! Our boiling water tap died last week. Older model, so as usual unnessecarily replacement parts phased out, unavailable, please buy a whole new one, thank you eur2000. #retrorepair #quooker #ftw

Probe part, listen to sound when cd is reading. Sound should be clean somewhere and noisy somewhere else. You will know from which part of the circuit it starts so it will narrow down your search.

I fixed one a long time ago with audio problems. I used a cheap headphone, cut the 3.5mm connector, connected to ground and started tracing the path audio takes from chip to finish with the positive wire. Ended up with an IC so.e where that still looked OK. But after replacing it all was good.

Tasty! Was once at a Bosnian friend's party. His uncle made a grill that would turn the lamb slowly with a small motor. But had to wait 5hrs until it was ready :). Very tasty though.

Daughter saw me messing about with the Miyoo Flip, so she made me a Game Boy squishy out of tape and paper. ๐Ÿ˜

Still feel OnionOS is better than #surwishos. But the #miyooflip has a better form factor, hdmi out and bluetooth controller support (very wonky). For me the Miyoo Mini+ has better dpad and buttons though (membranes). OnionOS boots faster too it seems. Flip is has more power though, so more emus.

Updated my OnionOS theme a bit to work with #surwishos on the #miyooflip. Redid all the systems icon so they are all about the same size and stay within certain borders. Was getting irritated by them not lining up. And replaced the onion with surwish logo. #retrogaming

Still an unhappy would be owner :(. No notification about it being back in stock and again missed out. Any reason why they don't just do pre-orders? Very frustrating for people who are not glued to their screens and actually have to work...
