"Moments like this remind me why Reading is a city that keeps on giving - the sense of community and willingness to help does not go unnoticed, and I feel genuinely grateful to call Reading home." - sent to a Green cllr by a migrant finally given the green light on their visa.

Farage - 12%, Davey - 11%, Polanski - 10%
3% more and this Labour Government need to worry more about the left - than the right.
Lower bills. Protect the NHS. Nationalise our public services.
This is how we start to turn our country around.

Yesterday evening about 100 people gathered outside Reading Station to protest the forced starvation in Gaza, bashing empty pots.

A primary school in my ward had their summer fayre today and I enjoyed cleaning out their bake sale. Unfortunately the bill for those nuclear bombers means the school is still a little short on the total for their new library. Donate here: www.justgiving.com/campaign/red...
Another year gone by with the mercury soaring past 30°C on the solstice here in Reading. The public must realise that climate change manifests as inflation & cuts to government services. The climate crisis is the cost of living crisis. We cannot afford not to act. #showyourstripes
Having spent the afternoon in a camp here in Calais with refugees who have already made incredibly dangerous journeys - mainly escaping war in Sudan - who will be forced to do so again due to the UK's hostile environment, lack of safe routes... this is disgusting.

Screenshot of a letter from Carla Denyer MP to the Foreign Secretary, which refers to President Trump's comments about Gaza, and calls on him to immediately summon the US ambassador to make clear the UK’s opposition to any efforts to forcibly displace and ethnically cleanse Palestinians from Gaza; to make sure the US is in no doubt about the UK’s intention to defend the right to self-determination for the people of Gaza and Palestine; and to actively seek assurances that the US is committed to international law, the current ceasefire and to a two state solution.
Yesterday President Donald Trump made comments amounting to the threat of ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza. I’ve written to the Foreign Secretary calling on him to summon the US Ambassador and make clear how unacceptable these proposals are.
"Trump’s comments reflect a view where Palestinian lives are disposable, where their history, culture, and homes can be wiped away for geopolitical ambitions. But forced displacement is not redevelopment; it is a war crime."

Having alienated everyone else, Reeves turns her focus to the "Tactical" Green vote, approving a third runway.

The UK property market feels like playing Monopoly against a much older sibling: no fun for anyone but the person with all the wealth.
When a government tells us, within the course of one week, that we can't have new hospitals but must have new runways, you know that it is not working on our behalf, but on behalf of economic power.
After spending more than an hour on the phone with Microsoft Support, I have learned:
1. It is impossible to disable Copilot in OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, or Windows itself.
2. It will not become possible to do so for another month AT THE EARLIEST.

It’s rare to see the word genocide in a headline. Yet no word can really reflect the horror.
Institutionalising political illiteracy, McCarthyite denunciations, threats, paranoia and snitching, and outright bigotry aimed at the very existence of people of colour in workplaces. This is the reality of the project that announces itself to the world as "rational" and defending "free speech".
Tactical voting is a scam.

Kemi Badenoch has said “peasants” from “sub-communities” in some countries are the ones in grooming and rape gangs, and that a national inquiry would seek to identify those in authority who did not act. “There are some places where, when people behave in that way, a mob turns up and burns their homes down, and then they know that they can’t do that sort of thing,” the Conservative leader told GB News.
Given that just a few months ago rioters in the UK actually did try to burn the homes of people seeking asylum from armed conflict and persecution, following disinformation representing them as a threat to children, this reads a lot like incitement to racial violence by the leader of the opposition.
