The implications of the world's richest man pretty much literally buying the right to do what he wanted with the federal bureaucracy for a few months before getting bored are such that I think a lot of people choose not to think about it, because if you did you'd conclude something had to be done.
Just tell these guys if they want to power this bullshit they have to use 100% renewable energy. And if that's not feasible they should keep Engineering until it is. Should be no problem for the geniuses we know them to be
