Where to even start - properly bonkers. Still, I feel safe knowing "the atomic age is ending", that's a big achievement by the software companies - big handclap 🤪

I agree to a large extent, but an offshore wind farm is likely to be at the end of a long cable

I didn't realise it was disputed, I thought it was a fairly well established theory. Interesting 😁

True, I guess when you add in higher CofG that would definitely start to add some non-linearity. I'm still struggling to get to "5x force" though, unless it's comparing Ford F150 to VW Golf or something

CF is directly proportional to mass. As is friction. And also acceleration and braking forces. In my simple 2D mental model with point masses etc 😁

Can anyone point to an explanation of the physics behind the "5x force" as I'm struggling with it. I've seen stuff about exponential effects of damage etc, but can't see how a VW id4 is 10% heavier than an id3 but would exert 5x forces?

I am very glad that teenage me in 1983 had no idea at the time about the two potentially catastrophic events (Able Archer 83 and the Petrov Incident) going on in the background on the other side of the "Curtain"

The World is full of very posh places right next to very poor places - deprived bits of Macclesfield not far from Prestbury, thinking of leafy Cheshire. Or here in Bristol, Sneyd Park next to Sea Mills and Lawrence Weston. I'm not even convinced this is a feature of Britain being small or crowded?

I'd rather not encounter the term "fallout" when thinking about outcomes of the developing conflict in the Middle East ( HHOS)...

Ignoring all the AI rubbish, surely Kenny Everett deserved an honourable mention even if he wasn't strictly the answer to the original question?

Woohoo. Apple has age verified me on my iPad because I've had an account for more than 18 years - that was painless!

The Murican gov's pronouncements on this conflict ironically remind me of some of the unhinged comms that came out of Saddam's regime during Desert Storm ("unleashing mother of all wars" etc)

97% of Britons work jobs which force them to pay all the tax they should.

3% of Britons who get 50% of the money can choose to dodge almost all the tax if they want.

That 3% of tax dodging wankers is who Reform work for.

Just fascinating to see Blair, a man whose reputation was ruined by the Iraq war, advocate joining a war that is exponentially stupider and more chaotic. How is it possible to learn nothing from the worst mistake of your life?

There's a lot of mean-spiritedness about people who have gone to live in Dubai. We need to help, and ensure they have secure accommodation in the UK for 91 days of the next tax year.

You make a good point about the incorrect word "restore" - they are proposing a state which looks absolutely nothing like Britain has ever been
