I try so hard to be a good person. It's just how I'm wired. Even when I'm having a rough go of it, like I usually am, I remind myself how I raised to be better. 😤
It has value for the consumer, sure, I agree, but it's arguably done more harm than good for the developers.
Instead of generating revenue from traditional sales, studios would have their titles dumped on GamePass. Supposedly earning very little payouts by comparison.
I also think Game Pass did a lot of harm in the sense that order to create a substantial enough library to justify the service, Microsoft pushed forward with all those studio acquisitions under the assumption it would eventually all pay off later. Instead a lot of talent and resources were wasted.
Publisher have, I think, for a long time been pursuing that holy grail of "the Netflix of gaming" subscription service. Game Pass was an attempt. But not only are video streaming services struggling in general, but it never had that killer app like some streaming services have that must watch show.
Ours was before... all this lol. But we had a home with an in-law, which was where I was living. It was a hard sell because most buyers were single families. Nobody needed the extra room. We had, at one time, somebody ready to buy before his parents literally flew in to convince him to drop his bid.
Been there. When I was renting from my folks, we were trying to sell the house but we had such an odd home that made it a hard sell. Took us years of "tire kickers" before we actually found someone genuinely interested in the property.
