yeah!! it's been the major thing stopping me- for a while i wouldn't even try to touch my main project's CONCEPT DOC after a certain point because the expenses just had me too scared. but it's a sign of a dedicated dev to save and generally wait as needed, imo

If you're making your games so absolutely massive that you need to turn to AI for all your NPC dialogue and interactions, you are simply: making your games too fucking big.

also re: not having the money for something your game needs.... i've been learning this the hard way for years:

put it off and save for it. if this means only doing minor dev on your main project for a few years and doing a smaller side game, so be it.

but may i also suggest!! finding artists who don't mind free use of their art, too. sorta along the same lines as stock photos and affordable/free assets, but it's specifically art. + maybe credit the artist for bonus points lol
