This is what happens when we allow a gerontocracy to fester

Not sure if anyone has seen it but the IG page for the Nixon Foundation is absolutely cooking with their edits

They hired some Gen Z marketing & communications student for an internship and have been running with it since; they’re killing it and I have to commend them for it

And not cause it’d get her votes either (personally I don’t think it would nor was it a district where the populace was influenced by that) she just genuinely believed that they deserved the full rights, authorities, and value of being a state and that it was the right thing to do

I loved that earlier this year I got to work with a candidate who not only truly believed that PR, DC, Samoa, Guam and the other territories should be U.S. states but also openly stated that on her website and frequently brought it up whenever possible

Maybe unpopular, maybe not but The Wire is not only as good as everyone says it is but actually is as good as Sopranos fans think their show is

True, but I think it’s also the almighty dollar from corporate donors to maintain the status quo is more important

But that crowd definitely is annoying and not contributing to anything

I do love how instead of actually trying to whip votes, coerce or entice the GOP into voting to impeach, they just wholesale said “nah we’re not going to impeach” while also criticizing Dem legislators who continually voted to impeach Trump

You may phone the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121. A switchboard operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you request.

It’s an odd feeling knowing that there’s likely more than a few Marines who played on the B4 map Kharg Island and now are part of the unit deployed to the Mid East to potentially IRL take and hold Kharg Island

Come read my latest on Substack about Israel, American foreign policy, and the ongoing war in the Middle East. We should not be involved and there’s a valid argument on whether we should continue to support Israel as they violate human rights & int. law

A few years back, a friend of mine and I discussed how Robert Mueller’s report essentially said he couldn’t indict a sitting president so it asked Congress to act, which it didn’t do, while the January 6 committee asked the DOJ to take action on a former president, which it didn’t.

That last line about the Israel lobby is kinda interesting though

Not that he’s wrong, there is a lot of influence upon federal policy by Israeli, but the fact it’s him saying it is just a tad concerning knowing how far-right he is

Was not expecting that

Surprised that Joe Kent is the official with the most moral backbone in the administration… if that is really the case

I do kind of love how defense oriented conservatives so often rail against Bob McNamara and his policies in Vietnam yet continually worship consultants at McKinsey, give high priced contracts to Deloitte and Boeing, and want service academies to emulate HBS or Wharton

One of the problems in a concentration camp regime is that institutions tend to respond to authority the way they always have, and are often incapable of shifting gears to acknowledge in any panoramic way exactly how bad the situation as a whole has become.

Helps that most people (outside of political junkies and the informed) don’t really care about OMB let alone could tell you what it stands for or its function

Being a Secretary is like being a C-suite executive; it does not require degrees nor any type of special skills. Literally the most low ranking, least paid employee of a company could be the CEO since they have the same credentials

My point is we need standards

It would be good if (1) the Dem national leadership actually used that messaging in elections and (2) if we had a left version of John Yoo or Bill Barr who utilized a super niche, out there reading of the law to help eradicate conservative jurisprudence policy

feels like a minute since i have pointed out that donald trump has pardoned more child sex offenders than every other president of the united states combined

Sure, definitely. Not disagreeing there. But in the meantime, it means way worse shit for any type of immigration enforcement policy

But I mean this *should* help the Democrats in the midterms, provided the leadership actually does its job

Can anybody tell me the last time we had a Senate confirmed cabinet secretary that had zero credible experience nor even a Bachelor’s degree?

And if you thought Noem was a bad choice, wait until you see Mullin
