Other people Not Getting It cannot hurt me.

The best use of the Future Sight frame by far. They had no idea that they were changing Magic forever.
The Magic card Tarmogoyf Tarmogoyf {1}{G} Creature — Lhurgoyf Tarmogoyf’s power is equal to the number of card types among cards in all graveyards and its toughness is equal to that number plus 1. */1+*
Thinking about them
There’s definitely some downside, but I think it usually helps you a lot more than it hurts you.
The Slay the Spire II compendium screen
Took 8 attempts for my first A10 W with Ironclad. I took some exhaust setup stuff early and banked heavily on hitting payoffs later. Bing Bong was pretty clutch in shaping the deck into the late game. I didn't realize that it doubled the Mauls you transform cards into, so I had a lot of damage.
it’s a great day for transphobes to eat shit
Wracked up my first lost to the second act III boss on a run. I definitely have work to do on figuring out the strong Ironclad decks, and the new Doormaker is pretty brutal.
Oh, I think it is trivial to build an environment where this card is strong. The difficulty is in making the card fun and engaging and not merely strong.
I could be a Jedi any time I wanted to!
I do expect it to show up in Standard in some amount, but it's at a power level that is very difficult to try to map games around for Cube.
The Magic card Emeritus of Ideation Emeritus of Ideation {3}{U}{U} Creature — Human Wizard Flying, ward {2} This creature enters prepared. Whenever this creature attacks, you may exile eight cards from your graveyard. If you do, this creature becomes prepared. 5/5 Ancestral Recall {U} Instant Target player draws three cards.
I finally found the words to describe how I feel about cards like Emeritus of Ideation:
"This card is too strong to be this weak."
It's about time we had a new Magic set, eh? This week on 180 MTG I go over my early impressions of the themes and mechanics of Secrets of Strixhaven for Cube:

Naturally.

I mostly only struggled with Regent, though I picked up a few losses with the other characters from A6-9. My first A10 run with Clad I got beat by The Queen with a Perfected Strike deck that definitely couldn't have beaten a second act 3 boss, and I've died earlier that that on subsequent attempts.
100 Gemstone Mines
Necrobinder. Surely on some level just because the character is very strong, but I love Osty.
I have made it to A10 with every character in Slay the Spire II and I believe now is when I will start Losing A Lot.
User dratsab huffman asks the question: To amuse myself i researched revacholian nationalism as well as measure head's race theories etc etc and focused my character on "traditionalism". Anyway, ive noticed that if i ever click dialogue options that are in tune with my character's political compass, i lose morale. Whats the point of having this as a mechanic if its going to be so detrimental and feels like the character doesnt believe he actually is this or something... is there anyway to overcome that kind of morale loss?
Recalcitrant Jester replies: Being a fascist is a deeply demoralizing experience. You have to not only radically alter your worldview to make reality fit into your unhinged schema, but that worldview is predicated on the notion that the weakest, most unworthy degenerate worms on the planet are somehow overpowering and humiliating you on a moment-by-moment basis. In mechanical terms too, the lowered morale also reduces your volition score—the more you indulge in your delusions, the less you are able to exercise self-control and self-awareness. The point of fascism being mechanically detrimental—the ludonarrative theme—is that fascism is an unequivocally self-destructive ideology, the practice of which only serves to nurture that self-destructive urge and turn it outward. It's not like Dark Side points in KotOR where you can access cool new abilities and get to enjoy being such a nasty lil rascal; you are not supposed to enjoy being a fascist in Disco Elysium. Fascism is the act of self-deception in service of making your own life more painful, solely for the payoff of making life more painful for people you dislike.
"Facism is the act of self-deception in service of making your own life more painful, solely for the payoff of making life more painful for people you dislike."
I think that I'm misremembering, because I can't find a statement on what I was referencing.
It’s inaccurate to say Mario is brave and Luigi is cowardly
Luigi is afraid of death, so he runs away from danger. Mario is afraid of living, so he runs towards death. Both brothers are cowards in their own way
Eddymurk Crab does not have prowess 🙅♂️🙅♂️🙅♂️
It's something that I just couldn't imagine a new game using as a rule today. Like, damage on the stack has issues regarding player intuition, but graveyard order is just hostile to the behavior of humans playing games.
I can't really conceive of this thing attacking me and that making it unable to block me. I expect it to do both. Constantly.
The Magic card Cuboid Colony Cuboid Colony {G}{U} Creature — Insect Flash Flying, trample Increment (Whenever you cast a spell, if the amount of mana you spent is greater than this creature’s power or toughness, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.) It’s chaotic in the midst of the swarm—only when you step back does the pattern emerge. 1/1
I don't have a logical reason for this, just a visceral reaction, but every time I look at Cuboid Colony I think the card should have vigilance.
Graveyard order mattering is such a funny relic of old Magic design.
A rare Selesnya banger.
1. In a landmark ruling, the Montana Supreme Court has declared that the constitution, one of the most progressive in the nation, entirely protects transgender people.
The ruling is even insulated from SCOTUS decisions, due to how state constitutions work.

Yeah, a non-Page non-instant/sorcery buildaround is a non-starter for me. Serpentine Curve sounds nice. Some flashy edicts could be interesting alongside cards that make exactly one token like Serpentine Curve and amass. Something about page amassing an army also really tickles me.
Tokens and cards that kill tokens strike me as a reasonable avenue to explore. I'm low key thinking about Lava Spike...?
