The darker spots are "tan lines" in a sense, because that is where the lights in the final assembly area were positioned above it!

The last core stage had "tiger stripes" from being rotated multiple times!

funniest thing about my insatiable curiosity is my compulsion to explore references for things outside my typical art wheelhouse; like a smashed tank.
