Well well well...

"For a story that, in no small part, unfolds in text messages, and grapples with the discontents of modern life, the visual aesthetic is pleasantly quaint and gritty, and the theme, timeless."

Pigs on a Train Part 272
Some people thought I'd forgotten about this. Others forgot all about it themselves. Although most have never even heard of it.
Buy my new graphic novel!
“It scores an acute awareness of one’s own lurking, inner Philip-ness.”

Was That Normal? by @avpotts.bsky.social @averyhill.bsky.social looks like one of those rare graphic novels that cuts straight into the weird, tender, uncomfortable mess of being a person.
Alex is doing the kind of work that makes everyday unease feel cinematic.

Here's another in-depth appreciation of Was That Normal? by @avpotts.bsky.social, this time on Comic Bits Online. I'm so glad people are getting this book, Alex is a brilliant cartoonist and also very funny.

I was able to review @avpotts.bsky.social's WAS THAT NORMAL? (@averyhill.bsky.social) for @comicsjournal.bsky.social; Philip struggles to find connection, a problem made worse by his misguided perceptions of how everybody else's lives are so much better: www.tcj.com/reviews/was-...
The Comics Journal! Talking about my new graphic novel!
5 hours to go in our Kickstarter!!!
Tonight
Tomorrow
That's right, this is tomorrow
Last week, at the place where I'm working, the toilets on our floor were out of order, and now someone put the 'out of order' sign on the inside of the toilet door.
I see it on my way out, and every time I think that the world is out of order and I've got to stay in the toilet until they fix it.
This is on Thursday!
FFS this is riddled with errors
THE whole thing
It's whole thing
And when I say it's part 1, it's also part 2
Going to South Woodford to get some Sardines Part 1
Don't forget my book launch for Was That Normal on the 26th March
Oh man now I've got to go to Harrogate
I've got to remember that line about it being 'a tender, funny and deeply human book about introspection and human connection' for when people ask me what it's about
The launch of Was That Normal?
It's in less than three weeks now.
I'll be signing these (and one other that I didn't have to hand for the photo) and then you can buy them, and have a drink and all talk to each other and then go to the pub after. That's how these things work.
