Sulzberger has voiced a new ad encouraging listeners to support any news organization dedicated to original reporting — even if it's not the Times. It's Sulzberger's...

"Not asking you to click on any link, just subscribe to a real news organization with real journalists doing firsthand, fact-based reporting."

A.G. Sulzberger, publisher of The New York Times, urging people to support "original reporting" wherever they find it.

This is murder. ICE routinely deposits released detainees far from their home just to be cruel. It’s standard practice. To do this to a blind man on a wet cold winter day in Buffalo is to know you are potentially sending him to his death.

I can't get over this number: in 2007, there were 360,000 newspaper jobs. Now, there are 80,000. "My local paper sucked!" Sure. What sucks even more? The void. "I get all my news from the Guardian!" No, the Guardian doesn't report on your town council, your school board, local cops.

Conservative US District Judge Cynthia Rufe, a George W Bush appointee, begins her bitingly accurate opinion against the Trump Administration's attempt to rewrite history at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia with a direct quote from George Orwell's "1984."

If you think Minnesotans sat around and waited for some politician to tell them to protect their neighbors, oh honey. You don't know Minnesotans at all.

This is excellent advice.

Here’s the translation:

Even if they occasionally contain nonsense: Read newspapers.

Look closely—and not just at headlines on social media, where only the stupid stuff gets shared.

Newspapers that are read are harder for despots to abolish.

We don't really need to connect the dots because Trump is doing it for us. He wants to take control of federal elections so he can rig them in his favor. He knows he can't win a fair election.

A wonderful personal story by NPR’S Bob Mondello . Read it if you saw "The History of Sound," or if you are interested in the Supreme Court, or if you can't remember your father's voice.

“Are you serious? You said if I raise my voice, you will erase my voice?” the observer asked incredulously.

“Yes, exactly,” the agent responded. trib.al/6dZtssg

The killing of a U.S. citizen did not induce circumspection, as training and obligation to the rule of law require. It became a starter pistol for lying. open.substack.com/pub/johnfdic...

Remember folks, Stephen Miller said Alex Pretti was “an assassin who tried to murder federal agents" and J.D. Vance retweeted it

Murphy on Bovino: "That was a bone-chilling interview. I was shaking while I was listening to it, in large part bc it takes just an unbelievable amount of gall to lie to the American public. Everybody saw that video ... it should freak the public out that the Trump administration lies this easily"

Statement from Michael and Susan Pretti
Parents of Alex Jeffrey Pretti

“We are heartbroken but also very angry.

Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact.

I do not throw around the ‘hero’ term lightly. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed.

Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.

The first Minnesota murder, they refused to let a medical professional help the woman they shot. The second Minnesota murder, they simply shot the medical professional.

Just staggered by the complete moral void of not even *pretending* to wait for more information before pivoting to “the opponent of the state deserved it.” It is so insanely depraved. Soulless.

So, if multiple agents tackle a person to the ground, beat him, and then shoot him repeatedly, they cannot later say it was ok cause they later found he was armed - which is neither a crime nor one that carries the penalty of immediate execution.

There's no Nobel prize for killing civilians.

Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

ICE has invaded these communities. Outside agitators don't show up in their fucking bathrobes.

“You must understand: There is no single day on which a war begins. The conflict will collect around you gradually, the way carrion birds assemble around the vulnerable, until there are so many predators that the object of their hunger is not even visible.” V.V. Ganeshananthan

Non-protesting dad just trying to hustle his kids, as young as 6mo, out of the neighborhood. ICE threw a flash-bang INTO HIS car, all 6 kids in the hospital now.

If anyone wondered how things turn against occupying armies there's a case study playing out in front of you.
