Off up to Manchester to moderate a panel on radical retrofit. Sitting in the much quieter unreserved carriage rather than heading to the rammed reserved seating carriage.

Aside from writing I also moderate panels from time to time so here are some tips for preparing.

Yes. Really enjoyed it. It's a great production.
New skyscraper may open up a hidden section of London's Roman Wall

A section of London's Roman Wall hidden under a 1980s office block could be opened up to the public if plans for a redevelopment of the site are approved.
I'm not a journalist any more, but because I mention that I used to be a journo on my website, my email address has ended up on press release lists.
The really annoying bit is that most press releases don't have an unsubscribe option, which means having to email to get removed from the list.
Five women sitting on a low stage at a panel event. Behind them is a screen with the name of the event: Navigating the future of real estate: Harnessing the strenth of a diverse approach.
I never relish going out to events; it's not a habitat that feels naturally comfortable...but I always enjoy it when I do force myself/make the effort.
This was a really interesting discussion around women's careers in property. Barriers/journeys and plenty of tips.
When you hit send on a 2,000-word document you've written for a client. Moment of basking. Now, on with the next thing.
Thanks @nikkipilkington.bsky.social, learnt so much in just an hour. Practical and in plain English and now have plenty of simple things I can do.

Works for me.
I feel the same about his interview style. It's unnecessarily intrusive. It feels like he is chasing the sensational and extreme to create click-baity social clips. I stopped listening. Plenty of other good interview-style podcasts out there.
The Government is planning to weaken copyright protection, making it easier for AI companies to use creatives hard work and talent without recompense to train their software (and ultimately make money from it). If you think this is wrong, email your MP www.creativerightsinai.co.uk/new-page
I would click the 🤍, but it feels wrong. There should be an opposite for instances like this.
One thing I'm really enjoying about being a newbie on Bluesky is the lack of spammy DMs. Long may that continue.
Creating videos in a TikTok style - you know the kind of thing - doesn't suddenly make dull content interesting. It’s still style over substance. Create less, but create better.
So, a bit of the park opposite my flat is being dug up - drilling through the pavement. And there are workmen in my block of flats doing fire safety upgrades in the communal areas, ripping stuff, hammering etc.
Not really feeling the vibe of Radio 3 Unwind today.
How's your day?
This looks like the stuff of nightmares.
At the end of last month @ayoabbas.bsky.social and I went live on LinkedIn to discuss 3 areas of focus for B2B content marketing in 2025. Here's a write-up of that conversation staceymeadwell.com/2025/02/06/b...
What's up, Bluesky asks? @bizzybeebolly.bsky.social only let me come on her podcast to talk about how it all started with my career and freelancing. You can listen here on Spotify (also available on Apple podcasts) open.spotify.com/episode/2Cqg...
I was being slightly tongue in cheek - my terrible sense of humour. But thanks, it's always good to hear, regardless.
When someone gets in contact expressing an interest in having a chat about working with you, so you reply with some diary options only never to hear from them ever again.
Too forward?
When is too early to send a work email? I certainly don't expect a reply, it's more about getting stuff done at my end. But also don't want to add to stress/pressure.
Was going to ask if it helped. Hope the causes of the stress abate soon.
Nothing more deflating for the ego than content that doesn't get any engagements. Here are some lessons I've learned and tips for avoiding the crickets. www.linkedin.com/pulse/humbli...
Technically, Stockwell, but absolutely, let's get a date in the diary. It would be lovely to see you.

Hang in there. Nearly done.
Saw The Brutalist at the weekend, a 3.5-hour film about a development project. Kinda. It's about lots of things, but given my background, what stood out for me is the toxic work relationship between architect and client. Both were to blame and there are lessons about communication and compromise...
