Back to the job tomorrow, here's a example of my spare-time creative impulses ricocheting all over, the cut-up technique in full effect; from the music, to the words, to the video I made quickly yesterday morning for reasons I cant fully explain (but love very much)

A messy floor strewn with headphones, guitar pedals, leads, a 8-track recorder & a yamaha yc organ. The sun is shining from the left.
Working on the organ sounds with much patience.
Sending you good vibes
Here is a video version of 'Money Eats (New Vocal Version)' from my last EP...
I really love the new vocals from Neil Grant but like most music it just gets lost in the static of everything else.

Midnight Hugh MacDiarmid Glasgow is null, Its suburbs shadows And the Clyde a cloud. Dundee is dust And Aberdeen a shell. But Edinburgh is a mad god’s dream, Fitful and dark, Unseizable in Leith And wildered by the Forth, But irresistibly at last Cleaving to sombre heights Of passionate imagining Till stonily, From soaring battlements, Earth eyes Eternity.
But Edinburgh is a mad god’s dream,
Fitful and dark,
Unseizable in Leith
And wildered by the Forth…

Yep. Same.
In the early 2000s I took it to be serviced in the closest guitar shop to our new house and it was the same shop it had been originally sold as new in the late 70s.

Giving this old relic a bit of TLC... made in 1978, bought by my dad for me in the Barras market (the shop had a sign that said 'WE BUY GOLF') in 1989. I wanted a telecaster but I ended up with this - £90 plus hard case. It took me years to like it, now I love it very much

Aye, I listened a good few times earlier - great stuff.

"The people in charge have made it impossible for us."
Series 2 of 'Beef' bringing it so far... ❤️
I know... its shit.
Aye, he has worked with the brothers more than most in the last decade or two...
I love him, seriously under-valued musical genius.
I should further clarify that Davy Henderson, Katheryn Joseph, Ela Orleans, Gerry Love, Stuart fae Mogwai, Ruardi TVO, Burd Ellen, & more all said 'Aye' to the soundtrack work so I was experiencing a fair bit of hubris at that time. Thanks tae Covid we never need wonder what it coulda been like 🥺
I should clarify, I said "You know those Boards of Canada chaps, Davy... would you give me their email address?"
He said, "I wouldn't know anything about that".
Fine fella Davy 👌
Very evocative for me - local library record lending, 1982. Loved this & The Undertones ❤️
Those rascals.
I tried to get in touch with them in 2019, via Davy Henderson, to do some soundtrack work 😆. not a peep
They blew their chance.
Amazing.
Love em 💥
