When I watched Breaking Bad, I thought it was a great show!
However, thinking about it today I've realized it is a very American premise that simply wouldn't work here.
Pilot episode in Norway:
"Hi. You have been diagnosed with cancer.
You have an appointment in three weeks to start treatment.

You will get sick leave and keep your pay."
