Tempted to do this as a Leicester fan. But that would mean cheering on ManUre.

I wish they gave a quick answer option on all these customer feedback surveys "yes/no I received a great/good/poor service, but I cannot spare time to go through your form."

I'm a UK graduate. I did all my schooling in the UK, undergraduate & postgraduate.

But I wasn't born here.

I came to this country as a child refugee.

If you have a shortage of doctors now, it's not the fault of immigrants.

It's because of immigrants you have any health service at all.

Do better

Can we exile into outer space, those people who introduced the current “identity checks”?

It's been cold, but probably not for long enough. We'll see soon enough.

You deserve a break. Otoh "offer" the chance to run a bookshop at say £120 per day, to anyone wanting to chance their arm. Win-win!

We DO NOT throw perfectly good food away in this house.

We put leftovers in a Tupperware & let it go bad, THEN throw it out!

It’s strange how we’re meant to judge how authentic a UK politician is, by their eating habits or how they eat a bacon roll (Milliband).

I’ve reported on homelessness for years and met many, many people who have found themselves in awful situations

Every single one of them had more decency and integrity than this privileged plutocrat

Saydnaya Prison: Mapping the Assads' 'human slaughterhouse' Thousands of people have been executed and tortured in the secretive prison since the 1980s.

Think it’s evident now that Syrians looking for asylum were genuine. Only hate mongers like Farage, Reform, and the media liars from right wing papers talked of “economic migrants” BS at the time, BS now, and will be BS in the future. Populists are always the same www.bbc.com/news/article...

I don’t know how to stress this enough to the culprits, but when you look at an item on a supermarket shelf, your trolley does not need to turn out sideways across the whole aisle at the same time.

Yep. A far greater effect from AI.

do wonder what it must feel like to be Assad and be watching this from afar; presumably being a dictator involves a level of lying to yourself about doing horrible things "for the right reasons", and about most of your people being okay with it - how odd it must be for him to watch Syria rejoice

A list of the five best phrases I've come across for strong winds:

5. Blowing half a pelican (Danish)
4. Blowing hats and hay (Norwegian)
3. Blowing a hoolie (Scots)
2. Wind so strong it could blow a pig on to its hind legs (Estonian)
1. It’s only wind when the sheep no longer have curls (German)

The super rich don't want to pay tax.

So they identify economic costs & look for "expensive" groups to demonise through their media empires.

In the 80's it was single mothers.

For the last 15 years it's been immigrants.

Now it's the sick/disabled.

And far too many fall for those lies.

Jacqui Smith, "I'm proud to live in a country that provides shelter to people who have come from horrific circumstances, it's part of what it means to be British" #BBCQT

Whenever the "immigration crisis" is mentioned it NEVER applies to me. I'm Australian. No one has ever accused me of taking jobs while "stealing" benefits, doing crime, threatening the fabric of society, the British way of life, creating a no-go zone by simply living somewhere. Wonder why that is?
