'...who are not informed of any findings other than the final outcome'. But my understanding of this is that they didn't even do that? If the final outcome was that Mandelson failed vetting, why wasn't Starmer informed of that?

Oh, I love that!

I am genuinely scared right now. The Cold War seemed like a distant threat but this is all too real.

'Glory Box' by Portishead. I was in Asda, and it was unlike anything I'd ever heard before (and my taste was already very eclectic). It was as simple as asking the lady behind the counter what it was, but I knew I *had* to buy it there and then.

An innings and 137 runs? In Round 1? Away? Very impressed with @essexcricket.bsky.social!

Can anyone recommend a good tutorial video on painting model figures? I bought one online ready-painted, but tbh it leaves a lot to be desired...

If you live on your own, especially if you don't have friends or family nearby, do you ever worry about how you would let people know if something had happened to you?
I wonder if there's some sort of 'buddy check-in' app...

I always look at these photos, and I am pretty sure that we actually had one of these. My Dad worked in Dubai in the very early 80s and brought it back. I remember sticking some little stickers on the tuning display when the BBC stations changed their frequencies.

Ooh, I loved The Martian so will give this a go. I've seen a few people mention it so was already considering it.

Oh yes, I vaguely remember that! The rectangular headlights didn't square with the swoopy wings, and it was confusing me. The word 'kit' was coming to mind...

I was so happy when I found out that he'd left West Ham when he was a kid, otherwise I'd have had to boo one of our own players. He got booed at a *testimonial*!

I just watched it on YT. SO many things are familiar, especially the older man in the black coat and hat...and now I'm wondering if there is a bit of Mandela Effect, and I'm actually combining two separate scenes in my head!

I'm sure I watched it in the mid 80s, which would fit with 'Callan' reruns on Channel 4. Does this seem familiar from 'Callan' or do you recognise it from another series? Any help would be very welcome!

A bad guy is being followed, and before they can move in to capture/arrest him, he gets shot. Pretty sure this takes place at an airfield.
When he's shot, someone shouts 'It's a hit! It's a hit! I didn't think it would be a hit', I distinctly remember my Mum joking 'I thought it might go Top 30!'

@archivetvmusings.bsky.social Hi, I've been searching for some info on #Callan, and your blog came up.
I've been trying to find a scene that I remember from TV and it's been suggested that it could be a 'Callan' episode.

Is there anyone especially knowledgeable on '70s UK spy drama #Callan? I've been trying to track down a scene I remember from years ago, and it's been suggested it could be from 'Callan'.
