I used to teach an Introduction to Communication class at UCSD that did a similar thing, discussing the forms of human communication in chronological order, and then talking about the context of power relations, culture, etc, that was involved when each was developed.

The New York Times long story on Dick Cheney refers to the claims about weapons of mass destruction that justified the Iraq war as an "intelligence failure." I would characterize them as a propaganda success, and it was one in which the Times played a central role.
Looks as if Trump is saying no Democrat will be allowed to win another national election—and he will use the FBI, the DOJ, and the CIA to make sure of that. This is a full-scale attack on American democracy, and every Republican, CEO, and conservative mouthpiece who doesn't object is complicit.
