As someone who worked as a cocktail waitress this is ridiculous. The problem is our health care system which is actually a health care insurance system.

The Strait was open before he started the war. Then Iran closed it. He demanded they reopen it. They reopened it for those willing to pay a toll. He suggested tolls would be okay if the money was shared with the U. S. Iran said no. Now heโs closing it.

A war is raging in Europe, and Trump has said basically we wonโt defend them. So they have to think about their own defense without the US, all while the US began military action without consulting them and is now demanding they send their already stretched defenses to Iran.

For my Jewish friends, pay attention. Nobody wants to be on any government list/registry and that is especially true for Jewish people. This administration is not your friend.

This all sounds good, but building new pipelines and promoting AI, thus the โneedโ for more data centres will seriously undermine these effort.

New: Wikipedia has officially banned AI-generated content. After months of heated debate and previous attempts to restrict the use of LLMs, volunteer editors accepted a new policy that prohibits using them to create articles for the online encyclopedia

Author Steven Vickers wrote on Threads, "To confirm, this '100% AI generated' passage is the opening of Chapter 5 from Mary Shelleyโs Frankenstein. I think authors are going to get screwed in these AI witch hunts."
I agree 100% with Steven Vickers that authors will be falsely accused of using AI in the coming years. In particular, authors like myself whose works were stolen to train AI systems are at risk. When we write in our own unique styles, AI trained on us will quite likely flag us as using AI.
"It's [not fair to students or myself] that the burden of truth befalls us when almost every class they have taken in the previous decade has peddled the lie that everything can continue more or less as it has the last 50 years." - Ginie Servant-Miklos, Pedagogies of Collapse
For years, tech companies struggled to take smart glasses mainstream. Cut to 2026, and Meta has sold millions of pairs of their Ray-Ban and Oakley glasses, driving a boom of content in which pickup artists and pranksters record strangers in publicโoften without their knowledge or consent.
I've seen similar graphics to the ones they've used, but I appreciate what they have to say about the details in disclosure statements and the example they provide in their own disclosure statement.

Workday just lost the argument that matters most A federal judge said their AI hiring tools can be challenged for filtering out applicants over the age of 40 The algorithm did it is not a defense If this holdsโฆevery company using automated hiring just stepped into legal risk! Youโre not crazyโฆif youโve applied to 50,100, w00 jobs and heard nothing. The system may be filtering you out. This decision means the plaintiffs may continue pursuing claims that workdays tech had a disparate impact on applicants age 40 and older -SHRM

Aaron Gunn: If the federal government truly believes in the private property rights of Canadians, they should probably stop opening every public meeting by proclaiming the gathering on the โunceded territoryโ of this or that First Nation. Doing so reinforces the radical and dangerous legal concept that most Canadians live on โstolen landโ. This is Canada. One country. For all Canadians.

He is completely harmless, though momentarily unsettled by the alarming possibility that someone might acknowledge the land before a meeting. Yesterday on social media, the MP appeared to crash out and demand to speak to the manager of land acknowledgements, a position that observers confirm does not exist. Chiefs whose territories make up the riding had two words for the MP - Chillax, Bud. Land acknowledgements have never seized private property, cancelled a mortgage, repossessed a pickup truck, or altered a single title deed anywhere in Canada. They are simply people recognizing the history of the place where they are standing. No one is going anywhere. Canada will survive the brief moment of honesty. Until then, Chiefs across the region continue to reassure the public that land acknowledgements have not, to date, resulted in any land back. Covering sessions daily at the Commission on the Status of Women this week, one question keeps coming up for me: How can responsible media better amplify the institutions trying to address global crises? Too often we are not meeting the moment โ we are being entertained by it. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus & @DrTed...โข 6h Global military expenditure just hit $2.7 trillion - in a single year. According to @UN estimates, ending world hunger by 2030 would require $93 billion annually. That means we spend almost 30 times more every year on killing each other than on making sure everyone eats.
This is Director of WHO. And thatโs exactly the point Iโm trying to make all day every day this week.
