Sorry to hear it. Had a similar situation just last week, where my future hinged on the speed of a group of bureaucrats. Got a letter I needed from them in the nick of time—but only after hearing from two or three different further groups of bureaucrats that I was probably too late

Yeah. So far I've been a fan of points in this spirit (like Trevor Noah's, at a recent NYC gig of his).

Also. As I know it (but maybe it's propaganda I've fallen for), MbS is styling himself SA's Ataturk. So reward the man with some dick jokes!

when do the xs compose a y

Skimmed a piece of Alex Bird's recently, where he gives an info-based version of the energy-bound answer to the special composition question, and I'm feeling similarly. Maybe functions give us everything of metaphysical value

Margarida gave a fantastic talk. If anyone asks, I'll be telling them organisms are energy-binded metabolizers

It blew my mind, too. But it also made me think he's cooler than I'd given him credit—which was a mistake. It is she who's way less cool

It's not obvious that the lovers of spectra haven't (misguidedly) conceptually engineered categories of individuals into existence, in which case the legislating-out is no cruelty. But who cares, we can justify compassion for our unique friends otherwise than by doing bad science

F Scott Fitzgerald I remember being an em-dash fiend too. Maybe they overtrained the models on our coolest writers

"If you’re speaking only about gametes, everyone understands that [an] egg isn’t a woman and [a] sperm isn’t a man. We have to rethink a little about what we’re talking about." Why isn't this a super misleading evasion, one that implies a jokey mischaracterization of the main binary view

I concur

God damn it, I meant "isn't for it to *be* politics"

Why can't I edit posts on blue sky

Also. I wonder how neatly their case for the racism, sexism of biology transposes to physics. Chemistry. Thermodynamics

Still. Seems like an awfully lax employment on their part of 'political'. Looks like the 'political' of that cliche of literature departments, "the personal is political"

8 months ago 0 0 1 0

I don't think they'd deny science and politics are distinct. For science to be, even unavoidably, political isn't for it to *be* science
