Four P5 teams eliminated before Christmas this year.
Teams eliminated with next loss:
-Maryland (Sun vs ODU)
-Georgia Tech (Sun vs Florida A&M or Wed @ Duke)
-Minnesota (Mon vs Fairleigh Dickinson)
-Miss St (Mon vs Alabama St)
-Penn St (Mon vs NC Central)
-DePaul (Wed @ Villanova)
Yes, that is correct
definitely possible! MSU could get ahead of alabama this weekend if tide fall again
Friday 3/7 Seed List
#68 should read Bucknell, not American***
JBR's Seed List - Thursday January 9th!!
JBR's Seed List - Thursday 12/19!
Seed list - Friday 12/13!
-Still early, so going heavier on predictive metrics
-SEC continuing to dominate at historic levels
-Kansas falls from a 1 seed to 3 seed following back to back losses to unranked teams
JBR's Top 25 - Week 6!!
What did I get right?
What did I get wrong?
-I really liked what I *saw* from Dayton in Maui, but the resume thus doesn't warrant anything higher than bubble territory. Flyers a team I expect to move up the next few weeks with games vs Marquette, UNLV and Cincinnati
-Other early surprises in the middle seeds deserving recognition: Maryland, Michigan, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Georgia, Utah St, Arizona St, Penn St
-I expect teams like Houston, UConn, UNC to finish higher on the seed list than they are shown today, but they need to actually win games first
-Auburn and Tennessee are clear 1-2, but reasonable minds can disagree on the order of 3-9 overall
-Early love for Oregon, Kentucky, Florida, Mississippi State, Clemson, Memphis, Pitt who have all put together strong non-conference performances and are being rewarded for it
-Reminder my seed list is heavily formulaic, a formula I have spent years tweaking and perfecting to best match what the committee will do. That said, early on, the formula is modified to go MUCH heavier on predictive metrics. These modifications will be reduced over the next 8 weeks
#JBRBracketology - Seed List Friday 12/6.
-First seed list of the season - go easy on me ๐
-New and improved format with logos for 2024-25!
-Bids by Conf: ACC 4, B10 11, B12 8, BE 5, MWC 2, SEC 12, WCC 2
SEC is legit. So deep 1-16.
I still think they're a Top 15 team
Huge huge jumps for Florida, Oregon and Memphis. Well deserved for strong Feast Week performances
JBR's Week 5 - AP Style Top 25 Ranking โฌ๏ธ
I don't think Indiana is the 14th best team in the country.
Sluggish early start as predicted, but Indiana looks disjointed.
Memphis up 9, 69-60, with 7:25 remaining.
Memphis is good
UConn Memphis has been incredible.
Get to ESPN 2 if you're not there already.
JBR Bracketology - Top 25 - Week 4.
IN: Mississippi State, Memphis, Drake
OUT: Arizona, Illinois, Creighton
๐ Wisconsin, Marquette, Tennessee, Florida
๐ Arizona, Texas Tech, Purdue
Bump
Absolutely.
I am very intrigued as well
Time to start acknowledging Wisconsin looks legit this year
Feel like it's time to start taking Drake seriously...
Impressive 5-0 start for new coach Ben McCollum. Bulldogs have a pair of neutral Q2 wins. Will play for Charleston Classic championship Sunday night.
-Kansas & Marquette have been winning (great for the resume) but not at an elite efficiency
-UConn will face first Top 300 opponent Monday in Maui when they play KP #33 Memphis
-Boise State looks like team to beat in MWC
-UC Irvine the top mid major to keep an eye on. Anteaters are legit!
-Zags got Dudes
-Top 6-7 teams pretty much as expected
-A few under the radar teams kicking ass thus far in Cincinnati, Pitt, Ohio State, and Maryland. I expect all four to make the NCAA Tournament
Top 20 teams in adjusted efficiency when removing the preseason weights, per Torvik:
