My statement on sexual abuse allegations against Cesar Chavez
The proof is in the numbers—when we protect our public lands, we get back so much more than just beauty and recreation.
I'm proud to continue working every day in Washington to support our local communities who rely on outdoor recreation.

New Mexicans voted for peace, not $100 at the pump and another forever war.
I’m headed home to New Mexico after the last vote of the week.
Noem is out. Now DHS needs serious leadership and serious reform.
My statement on Secretary Noem’s removal:
Not only does the attack on Iran risk the lives of our soldiers and mean more chaos and death in the Middle East, it has sparked economic instability and will spike energy and gas prices here at home.
The stakes are too high for our sons and daughters in uniform and our nation for the President to unilaterally push us into endless war. We live in a democracy. Congress is the voice of the people and cannot be sidelined. The people of New Mexico deserve a say.

Answering the real questions with my State of the Union guest and Carlsbad resident, Aaron Vega.
My guest for tonight's State of the Union is Aaron Vega, a health care professional in Carlsbad with concerns about what Republicans' cuts to rural health care funding mean for the patients he treats every day.
This Black History Month, we’ve been celebrating the Black leaders and entrepreneurs who are shaping New Mexico’s story and strengthening our communities, like Ken Carson, Owner and Founder of Nexus Brewing in the South Valley.
This week, we saw the VA turn its back on Veterans by issuing a new rule to prevent them from accessing their benefits. They reversed the decision, but failed to acknowledge their mistake. Veterans deserve honesty, respect and integrity from VA leadership.

I want to thank the NM Legislature, the @govmlg.bsky.social, and her Administration for advancing critical legislation that will improve the quality of life for New Mexicans and respond to the needs of New Mexicans in various ways.
Americans have spoken loud and clear: no more unnecessary global conflicts or endless wars.
We must govern with strategy, intelligence and diplomacy, not reactive force that puts our troops in danger.

The Barelas neighborhood has been a center for community activity and small businesses for many years, and it was great to meet with business owners there and discuss the funding we secured for them.
I’m excited to see this funding help grow the local economy and increase community pride.
The President’s use of tariffs has been ruled unconstitutional.
To be clear, issuing these tariffs has already damaged our international trade agreements and cost taxpayers millions. Congress has the power of the purse, and the President is not above the law.
Let’s restore order.
The last thing New Mexicans want is more red tape and the continued rollback of their American rights.

Was great to convene New Mexico farmers, ranchers, food banks, and agriculture leaders yesterday at the Gutierrez-Hubbell House to talk through their priorities and concerns as we head into 2026 Farm Bill markup. I’ll carry their voices with me to Washington as we debate this bill next week.
It was wonderful to provide remarks at the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Gala — an organization rooted in community and small business growth in the Mesilla Valley.
Happy Valentines Day to you and your loved ones! A special shoutout to these elementary school students in Chaparral who took the time to make valentines for our veterans.
I’m working to make life affordable for New Mexico families in Congress, starting with artificially inflated housing costs: vasquez.house.gov/media/press-...
Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security continues to spend billions of YOUR money with zero accountability and in violation of the law — dollars that would be better spent to lower YOUR costs. www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
Rising prices are devastating New Mexico families — from groceries to housing to healthcare, tariffs and giveaways to the rich have pushed family budgets to the brink across our district this year. democrats-budget.house.gov/legislation/...

Que significa el nuevo proyecto de ley HR 7296? Aquí explico por qué es una ley que tendrá un efecto en nuestras elecciones y especialmente va a impactar a votantes Hispanos, veteranos, y mujeres en Nuevo México.
I have grave concerns about the impact H.R. 7296 would have on Tribal, rural, veteran, and female voters’ rights in New Mexico.
I just received confirmation that the FAA is lifting the Temporary Restricted Airspace, and flights should resume as normal very shortly. As I’ve said, there is no national security threat, and I will continue pressing for answers and accountability for the chaos this has caused.
Update on the closure of El Paso International Airport and its impact on passenger and commercial air traffic.
