I didn't even really mind the ducking thing, I'm a methodical and patient person who plays turn-based menu-driven games. I would just like to pop a dude in the face without having to perfectly block three or four times first

Incroyable!! You're hired to make every video game since 2018

If someone in the year 2026 made a nonlinear action game where you just get strong as hell and didn't have to do the Daffy Duck "Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Thrust!" thing every time some pissant enemy respawns as you backtrack, they'd probably be the coolest game developer ever

Dear game creators: they already made Dark Souls, you don't have to keep trying to make it yourself

Fred from Scooby-Doo unmasking the bad guy at the end of a mystery, in two frames.
First frame:
Left side: a tied up man in a white featureless mask with eye holes. The caption over him in impact font reads, "SOMETHING I USED TO LOVE SUCKS NOW"
Right side of frame, Fred has his hand on the mask, about to pull it off. The caption on him reads, "LET'S SEE WHO'S BEHIND THIS."
Second frame:
The unmasked bad guy has a pencil thin curling mustache, a pointy nose, and dark hair, with a widow's peak.
The caption on him reads, "PRIVATE EQUITY"

GTV: Game Tech Video Vol. 2 [March 88] YouTube video by Jeremy Parish | Video Works

I have posted another VHS rip of Game Tech Video, the incredibly bizarre (yet very interesting!) Sony advertising vehicle masquerading as a monthly video games magazine on tape: GTV: Game Tech Video Vol. 2 [March 88]

I keep reading about how the current wave of teens and 20-somethings is much less interested in sex and dating than their elders, and I can certainly see this being a factor there

Did Shantae even go to school? Can she write? I don’t think the games make a definitive statement either way

Yeah, I don't care if fitted clothes are out of fashion, I look a lot less frumpy and sloppy in them than I do the current "David Byrne's Big Suit but terry cloth" look that is being pushed on everyone at the moment, and I'm sticking with them

I can understand it being well-liked by people who discovered it through other platforms than the NES. The C64 and Spectrum versions look pretty solid! (And this video include a surface-level overview of the practical and political reasons why EU/AU/US-developed games on NES always seemed so rough)
