Not a bad journey between uni and Kingston station . I used to roller blade it 25 years ago but today it was just a lovely walk.
Thanks for sharing (and the compliments) team ☺️
Anise Gallery had a fun installation by artist Rachel Ara's Studio What New playing bringing VR, artworks by artists within the gallery and mycelium together. The project, aimed at making us question what is real and what misinformation invited visitors to be part of the artwork by taking part.
A great selection of works at the Woolwich contemporary print fair. Many interesting prints and a lot of interaction with visitors. This said, two works left me wondering: why would you? (See pics n guess)
Tokenism when hiring can impact on the candidate and trigger an imposter syndrome where they question their ability unnecessarily
We have noticed that sometimes our emails go down better when sent by a male colleague
Award ceremonies and panels: a frustration one sometimes feels is wondering if when invited, it is because they like my work or because they need representation?
We will be able to keep people longer in the industry by providing a better work life balance and measuring the output rather than the time.
Our industry is very networking focused and that can put people off.
I would never do a job without a purpose.
& Because it's no longer needed to go to university to get into engineering, it gives me goosebumps to think of the opportunities available now.
Psychological safety, the next goal for the construction industry.
We need to be better at streamlining software and providing training that is tailored to each person rather than be broad brushed with the delivery and assume the information has been received.
There is a need for empathy by employers and recruiters to understand what others might be going through rather than limit themselves to see the world from their own perspective and experience.

No one size fits all: is your site inclusive? Good start with speakers pointing out that the audience is predominantly women whilst the topic impacts the safety of the entire workforce
I will share relevant insights from the panel as a comment on each of these. Please feel free to share your own insights too.
Finally, the panel will share some innovative design approaches or technologies that can be implemented to ensure the long-term sustainability and resilience of high streets, particularly in the face of climate change.
And of course how we can best integrate "third places" and mixed-use spaces into high streets to create vibrant community hubs that foster social connection and cater to a diverse range of needs.
We will explore the most effective strategies for fostering meaningful collaboration between local authorities, businesses, residents, and creatives in high street revitalisation projects to prevent negative impact.
I will also ask the panel how we can design high streets to be more inclusive and welcoming for everyone and we will aim to identify what the practical challenges of creating accessible and inclusive public spaces might be in the UK
We will discuss whether given the growth of online shopping, we should be focusing on attracting shoppers back to high streets, or use the opportunity to reimagine high streets as something else entirely.
I am looking forward to moderating this panel today at London Build Expo .
