Spent most of the day experimenting with coaxing an agent to write end to end tests against a super legacy frontend. The agent had access to a playwright-cli skill and a local knowledge base of the apps help center...didn't do so hot.

This is so real. I am waiting for my tax payment to clear tomorrow and if I audit my life there is not really much in my family's life I can point to and draw a straight line between it and that payment.

I guess that is the part that always strikes me as odd. Like the question was asked because someone is curious about what YOU think. I'm sure they know about Llama, google, and pre-existing content. It is a request for connection, education, and/or conversation.

I find it hilarious that one of the most common responses I am seeing in online communities when someone asks for advice or help with something is "have you asked AI?"

We are just wholesale turning over our thinking to AI and encouraging - or maybe even worse - expecting others to do the same.

I think it is enitrely possible that the current state of AI hype is driven by a lot of rich and powerful people experiencing a low to moderate form of AI psychosis. I mean it could also be greed…but be more interesting to find out it is the former.

I often watch videos and photos of my sons from when they were younger and I am filled with excitement remembering them. But then I am hit with this huge wave of sadness - almost grief-like - that I won’t ever be with that version of them again. It is awful and wonderful all at the same time.
