RONALD REAGAN (1988): We should be aware of the demagogues who are ready to declare a trade war against our friends, weakening our economy, our national security, and the entire free worldβ€”all while cynically waving the American flag.

Let me say this clearly. The tariffs are a money grab. Less money in the hands of the American people due to the new 25% tax on goods. More money to distribute to his cronies in the form of tax cuts.

See how it works?

PROP - PR Over Policy.

Don't confuse them.

He is flooding the zone. He knows that media will cover everything he does. Getting people upset. Which helps give him more coverage of the upset people. All just talking about him.

Dems need to be strategic.

Jamie Dimon says he 'hugged it out' with Elon Musk and would 'love to be helpful' with DOGE JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon wished Elon Musk the best with DOGE and said he'd "love to be helpful" with the government efficiency effort.

Whenever I see headlines like this, most of the time the opposite is going to happen.

I'm going to keep an eye on this over the coming months.

Movie poster for "Small Things Like These" featuring a shot of a contemplative Cillian Murphy. It is a story about how one man, in the 1980s,who experienced kind grace as a boy, extends that grace to another person, in opposition to the leadership of one the infamous Magdalene Laundries entrenched in Ireland from 1765 to 1998.

The laundries, run by the Catholic church, took in young women who got pregnant out of wedlock, put them to work doing hand laundry, and sold their children to adoptive parents. Misbehaving women were punished harshly.

The laundries also held sex workers, orphans, deserted children, and abused children. They were run with the blessing of the state. Mass graves were discovered at laundry sites, and the government issued a formal apology in 2013, paying millions of euros of reparations to over 800 survivors.

In the time of the film, an impoverished Ireland still used coal for home heating. Now, Ireland is ine if the wealthiest nations in per capita income. The turnaround, in just 40 years, 30 since the Magdalene Laundries were closed, is a larger reminder that things catching for the better and quickly even in the face of oppressive institutions.

I cannot recommend "Small Things Like These" enough. Based upon real events, anchored by a fantastic performance by Cillian Murphy, the film is an inspiring reminder of how personal acts of integrity thwart authoritarians - like Bishop Bidde's request for mercy for LGBTQ+ children and immigrants.

Deportation flights never stopped. The Biden Admin deported about 1 million people per year. Republicans never talked about that because it didn’t fit their narrative, and Democrats never talked about it because they feared it would anger part of their base. So ignorance ruled.

ICE is rounding up U.S. citizens?

Including a U.S. military veteran in New Jersey?

It's almost like we said something like this was going to happen.
