Nigel was such a wonderful, funny and kind man who I worked with for many years - what a tragic loss. He campaigned tirelessly for people affected by dementia and I had all the time for him. I hope his next of kin can be found and he can rest in peace 💙

The launch of Bath and NE Somerset Older People’s Voice yesterday with a packed room (we could have filled it twice over) and older people holding officials to account on issues like transport and housing and being clear that older people want to be a part of their local community.
GP CRISIS
Summary:
Not enough funding, not enough GPs in work, GP unemployment, too much focus on additional roles at the expense of patients being able to access GPs
Cause:
Government & NHS England failure to prioritise patient care in the community

Calm down.
This is far too measured and sensible for either Times readers or X, but may go down better here.
Anyway it is very good...

With new figures showing that more than one in three children in the UK are now living in poverty, with deprivation hitting a record high, it's good to see the Times focusing on the people who are really struggling
This is from IMPACT, which I am fortunate to be involved with. It describes how the Moray #sharedlives carers or hosts act as local ‘anchors’ for people who might need a bit of connection and support to the community. Worth a look @neilmcrowther.bsky.social impact.bham.ac.uk/2024/11/19/l...

Hello
#DogsofBlueSky beautiful Jess
Beautiful Jess
We will never stop fighting for the NHS, and can’t wait to find people on here to help fight with us…
Heartbreaking and angry. We need a rounded approach where communities can support als, but finding they also need support to know how to support others but they are not sure how.
And you, it's fab 👌 xx
Here’s my current job plan: understanding approach to risk in mental health; embedding person centred safety planning; implementing Safewards & learning what helps it stick; scoping therapeutic interventions & peer input in mental health wards. Please give me a shout if this is your bag too!
