It's probably the horns. The general consensus seems to be that lizards are hornless scalies (with some exceptions), therefore every scalie with horns *must* be a dragon. I know someone with a horned viper sona who keeps getting mistaken for a dragon, too.

To be fair, slits *are* hot (and extremely underrated), but what's in an OC's pants is ultimately up to the owner, and trying to dictate otherwise is obviously rude as fuck.

Downed an entire bottle of wine while hanging out with @theweirdraptor.bsky.social and @tonberrie.bsky.social last night, and boy did I feel it the morning after.

Somehow, it was both totally worth it and not worth it at all.

Yeah, it sounds like Americans have no idea how to design distinctive denominations. Making every bill a unique color and size is such a no-brainer.

You seem to be disregarding a third option: That we as a collective just swear off social media altogether because spending so much of our lives on platforms that are designed to make us miserable is pretty gauche, actually.

It's also that I'm starting to feel disillusioned by social media in general, especially Twitter-likes. It's all different flavors of the same toxic sludge, run by CEOs that actively hate the very userbase that made their platforms successful in the first place.

I did talk about deactivating my account before. Having had some time to think it over, it's unlikely that I'll actually follow through with that, but I can't rule out that I'll end up naturally using this site less and less until I almost never even check in anymore.

On that note, I'm still wondering if I'll even bother uploading my stuff to Bluesky from here on out. Not that I don't have a good reason not to, but it's just... with everything that's going on (both in my life and with this site), my investment in this platform has been steadily waning.

On a tangent, a recurring pattern I've noticed is that, the more people you introduce into a community, the more prone to toxic behavior it becomes. We might've genuinely been better off with smaller, more splintered groups than having literally everyone in the same space.

It's all about locking you into a walled garden and then feeding off of your insecurities, making you fight for attention in a sea of others doing the same, and pitting you against each other by making drama garner more engagement than just talking about your passions or something.

That's definitely the kind of thought I've been having. Doesn't really matter if there's a Twitter alternative that catches on and *isn't* run by the absolute worst of humanity. Social media as a very concept just feels fundamentally flawed in its current stage.

Love how Bluesky was down practically all day yesterday. They should have outages like that more often if it helps wean the chonically online off social media.
