It’s easy to tell when it gets down to 15 degrees C (59 F) in the mornings in Sydney because everyone starts dressing like they’re defending Stalingrad in winter.

Mostly mentioning this because it’s the 2nd 2026 album I’ve listened to this fortnight.

Thinking about how I used to wake up in the morning as a kid and wash the dishes because I enjoyed it so much.

Looking back at old updates for Sixty Years in Space and I think every update has been larger than the last.

This trend will continue until morale improves.

Reminder if you want to read a story about a future where people pivot to AI because they built too many data centers for online gaming and then the protagonist decides to steal one (data center) there’s always roguelikedeveloper.blogspot.com/2008/08/prin...

In this Bible, you roll for your interpretation of the sacred texts.

Created ET markets (make game play like 3rd edition High Frontier) and LEO markets (make game strictly play like HF4All). Working on exoarchitects.

It turns out the most egregious issue is actually “rule not in the part of the rulebook that uses it”.

Ok I’m now at the point of converting Sixty Years in Space to High Frontier 4All where the board game rules as written are fucking stupid and I wonder if anyone actually plays this way.

I’m content with it, personally

Got into making TTRPGs to avoid programming bugs but I’ve created a diagram in a PDF that manages to crash half the PDF viewers that try to open it.

It’s weird waiting so long for people to discover that Sixty Years in Space is, at its core, Triangle Agency without the railroading - a concept I built into the game in 2015 (in its action resolution system and key resource). And they’ve only figured out the second of three paths, so far.

If you change device it goes away which probably means if you delete then reinstall the app it will as well

Anyone else in Marvel Snap receive a Mystery Box with no contents that cannot be dismissed and therefore breaks the game?

Built a new spacecraft builder for Sixty Years in Space in 3 hours. The previous one took 3 months.

It was the one piece of the High Frontier 4All upgrade that I was really dreading and all it took was someone pointing out the High Frontier ship creation process is actually fun.

Frequently asked questions - 60 Years in Space community “Heliocentric Zone” is used both for distance from the sun and distance from Earth. Should this be split into heliocentric and geocentric? There's 3 quite interesting answers to this. 1. The heliocent

As I hope I’ve made clear, this is something that’s not a straightforward decision and is among other things a selfish one.

There’s a big grey area between not a bad guy and a good guy.

And the games he makes are unique in their approach. It’s one of those “don’t apply death of the artist to living artists but maybe this artist?”

Honestly it’s almost 1 am here and I’ve not to the strength in me tonight to provide specific examples especially as the Yahoo groups where they occurred over a decade ago don’t exist any more.

Phil is not in my in-group.

Phil has personally offended me many times. I listed a few times elsewhere in this thread and have more even worse examples.

I am absolutely supportive of people calling it out as well. I’m not denying that this is a not cool position to take and is definitely exclusionary for some people.

Oh I am definitely privileged and lucky enough to be in a position where I have the luxury of being able to ignore the majority of Phil’s nonsense. There’s no cognitive dissonance required; I can just ignore his bullshit and take the parts I like.
