Amber Eyes development is heating up. One of the major game puzzle types has been finished and work is proceeding on kits for interior scenes. The core of the main story has been finalized, and enough scripts are written that some voice acting can proceed. We've been quiet because we've been busy.

Since updating Unity from 6000.0.58f2 to 6000.0.62f1 our dev team has no longer been seeing warnings/errors related to particle systems. If you are still running a version from shortly after security patch and have seen those errors, it might be worth updating to latest. #Unity3D #GameDev #IndieDev
If you watch the video without reading the dev blog entry on xandercat.com, just note that the first test area has a 3x3 floor with standard mesh colliders, while the second has a 3x3 floor with a mitigation strategy using planes instead of the floor mesh for collisions which works pretty well.
Our dev team is currently working on new interior sets using modular kits. One issue to mitigate is a problem where rigidbody objects can collide with seams in modular floor panels. We added a dev blog on the website describing the issue. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcIa... #Unity3D #IndieDev #GameDev
We will be trying the latest version in the 6000.0 line to see if that resolves any of these issues. There are some reports that the "Internal: JobTempAlloc" issue may be resolved in 6000.0.59f2 or later.
Full error messages (as they had to be shortened in prior post): "Internal: JobTempAlloc has allocations that are more than 4 frames old" (presumably "4" can vary), and "Invalid memory pointer was detected in ThreadsafeLinearAllocator::Deallocate!"

In the last week, we have added new developer tools, a new unique creature model to scare protagonist Dave, and a new cat model for our co-protagonist Amber. She will be a Tortoiseshell. Though we may still tweak the color patterns. #GameDev #Cats #Gaming
We have added a Change Key Bindings UI to Amber Eyes under Game Settings. Initially, you can set primary input device as either Keyboard and Mouse, or Gamepad. Any other devices we should support for a 3D first-person adventure game? #GameDev #Unity3D
