State to slash funding for program that cuts customers’ energy bills EmPower+, which pays contractors to install energy-efficiency upgrades to low- and moderate-income households, is set to be cut by two-thirds.

Across NYS, thousands have benefited from #cleanenergy upgrades like insulation and heat pumps through the EmPower+ program. But recent budget cuts slashing funding from $220 M to $80 M by 2027 could reverse this progress.
