and i'm not into hockey but this guy has transcended mere hockey mascot, imo. i've been thinking about this kind of treatment for him basically since go & especially since they doubled down on the flag-

Every year I buy cake to celebrate trans day of visibility because every year is another one hard fought. Blow out some candles with my beautiful husband and we wish for better.

How is this justified?

Artists are record keepers. They don't just capture history, they preserve the visceral feeling of an emotional moment in time. Fascists despise them for good reason.

Draw lots of things quickly and make part of the fun to just create something. Draw things in a subject you love. Whether that’s animals, a particular fandom, etc.

Exercises to improve forms are great, and important, but you gotta mix in the fun stuff too. 🙂

Exactly this, all of this. I've felt it get only increasingly worse as the years pass it's been frustrating to see and be a part of these interactions. So difficult to have conversations where I have to argue with an even keel that my rights are worth fighting for and not just a worthy sacrifice.

Attacking trans people is historically one of the first steps fascists take because if successful, they claim precedent to justify attacking free expression, bodily autonomy/healthcare, freedom of association, and the rest of the LGBTQ+.

If Dems don't protect us, they are aiding fascists fullstop.

At the end of the day, so much of these moral panics are driven by eugenics and the belief that certain people shouldn't exist.

I buy fancy soaps to put in my dresser so my clothes smell like my nice soap then once they stop smelling as strong I use them

Saw this non native praying mantis at the park eating a native bee the sweat bee. Sweat bees are a gorgeous iridescent bee native in my part of WA. Absolutely my favorite flavor of bees.

They must be released right now — and inspectors let in.

They are generally well meaning teenagers and are genuinely much better behaved than most of the adults I work with lol
They just say dumb stuff sometimes, you get a mixed bag of coworkers when you work at a big box store like I do. Teenagers, always creative with their use of sarcasm and insults

I've had young coworkers call me a clanker recently(in the context that I was being slow or messing things up that day) so I think it's drifting out of its original aim at AI/bots and being used as another term for the r word. I just think it's interesting how fast terms shift as slang

Know how your rotisserie chicken is never as good when you get it home? It's all soggy and greasy and just warm. But you can fix that, by putting it in the air fryer for five minutes. It comes out hot, crisp, and delicious — and it makes the house smell like Swiss Chalet 🤣

Making me hungrier than I already am 🍗🍗
