Took me a while, this one! I only really warmed to the material once I'd heard it played by the touring band on the "Live in Madrid" download.

Yup! π
I don't wish to sound a snob about these things, but that's what you end up with when Radio 3 is made to "broaden its appeal".
Keep on hoping, it'll be nobody of the sort! I'd expect something more along the lines of "Friday Night Is Music Night".
...and furthermore, churned out by jobbing BBC orchestras...
Probably best not to get TOO excited about this. Other attempts to shoehorn 'pop/rock' into the Proms in recent years have proved to be popular, but generally turn out to be excruciating musically.
Two.
Lest we forget, Desmond Morris was also a leading light in the Surrealist Movement. He used his knowledge of zoology to invent alien creatures.

I'm sure I would have liked it a lot at the time, but this kind of hip-hop sampling stuff hasn't dated at all well. At least he didn't get some gabby bloke to talk all over it!
Like who was in the ever-changing Cure at the time this was published, or which of their many bands Vince and Terry had been in by then...?!?!
All done! but it did involve some research!

Fifteen... Although I doubt that I had any at the time.
They kinda work in a 'newageystonerhippydippyspacy' sort of way and are very much of their time.
A bit like the Incredible String Band, eh? tee hee π
Awesomeness! βοΈπ
Yeah, that would have to be my one too.
I'm also at The Enid's Hammersmith Odeon concert, but I don't have the albums.
Bits of Zappa's Brighton Centre gig in 1988 have turned up on albums but not all of it.
Depends on how good the singer is.
I don't share your opinion about Hatfields and Asaf, but I can't stand the Cleo Laine school of jazzvox either.
However the vocals on "Emergency" ARE terrible because he can't sing for toffee!
Two-ish. I have the Steve Hillage on CD and a tape of the Doobies show off of the radio.
Fair review of the Lifetime album, especially regarding the vocal tracks.
This one jumped out for me!

Rahsaan Roland Kirk at Ronnie's!
I'm with five...
Ooh! not listened to that in a long whilst... I might have bin #influenced !?!
DAVE Allen? Isn't he the bloke who used to do jokes about nuns?
Sadly not, in hindsight...
That looks fun! I'll watch that after!
It's the Italian language broadcaster in Switzerland. The show is from the Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona CH, on the 16th of April.
Heads up! This Italian radio station is broadcasting a SOFT MACHINE concert, tonight at 20.00 CET

I spot yet ANOTHER Charisma comp that's got Rare Bird's "Sympathy" on it. Stratton-Smith must have agreed to a contractual clause that said that it had to be included whenever they put one out!?
