House lawmakers move to restrict minors from accessing ‘harmful’ materials at public libraries An Iowa House subcommittee advanced a proposal Thursday to restrict minors from accessing materials with sexual content in public libraries unless they have parental consent.

"HF 2309 erodes the very foundation of local trust and community conscience," Helmick said. "Iowans are conscientious. Iowans know how to raise their families in libraries without government intervention."
