I like most of the Marvel movies and tv shows and if that makes me a mark, so be it

Going through photos from past trips and wishing I were in Europe right now.
As I post this, there's probably a motorist somewhere in the US driving their car into a building, while elsewhere in the country a person driving their kid to school in an SUV just took mental note of a person on a bike rolling through a stop sign.
Love riding in rush hour traffic, watching an impatient driver decide to drive in the oncoming lane and almost hit two people crossing the street, and thinking about how so many drivers think bicycles are dangerous.
I was going to say I could literally go out on the street by my house right now and film a bunch of cars not stopping at the stop sign
Insults: always the sign of a rational person with a strong argument
wow I thought my gym was pricey at less than $1000 a year
tell that to the drivers I see rolling through stop signs, speeding, and going through red lights every single day
A long delayed errand turned into a nice afternoon on my bike in Chicago.
I usually go somewhere else for repairs that I trust, but I bought the bike at this place, so...but yeah, I was annoyed that they didn't even bother to check when I mentioned it.
I'm not going to say what manufacturer it is but they do manufacture the wheels, per the specs for this bike.
FWIW, the warranty does say that original component parts are covered, which would seem to include the wheel. As I wrote in the thread, I decided not to press it, and then the owner decided to refund the cost on their own.
I like graphic T-shirts . . . on other people. And obviously they're great for riding in—simple. But I finally found one that works for me.
From the warranty: "[Brand] warrants for the original owner, under limited conditions, that the frame, rigid fork, *original component parts*, of each new product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the specified periods."
So they kept me as a customer, because I had a (free) tuneup scheduled next week and I was about to cancel it.
I hate to say it but I did feel like as a woman I wasn't being taken seriously. But at least they did the right thing, eventually.
I checked the website of the bike company later and it sure looked like it should be covered under the warranty. So I was annoyed but decided it wasn't worth making a fuss about. Well, the guy at the bike shop texted about a half hour later and said he'd talked to the owner and they would refund me.
I asked if this fell under the warranty, and they said no. I pointed out that it's not like I'm riding down mountains or anything. "Oh, well still this isn't covered." Fine, it was only like $30. But it left a bad taste in my mouth, how I was being brushed off.
A bike store that shall remain nameless totally redeemed itself with me today. I took in my bike that i bought there last summer because a spoke broke. In 30 years of riding bikes around town, I've never dealt with this issue, let alone with a new bike.
Including mine yesterday! (Had to leave a bike at the shop for repair)
Reading this in Chicago where it’s below freezing and dark for a third of the year at minimum.
also in 30+ years of riding I can confidently say the danger is not related to visibility, it’s driver impatience, inattention, and carelessness.
Bike locked at bike rack with metal panel in middle that makes it extremely difficult to use a U lock correctly!!!!
These bike racks are the worst design. I only locked up here because the middle ones were taken when I showed up and I knew I’d only be about 15 minutes. Also no one is going to steal this bike, let’s be real.

Green and red is not my favorite combo, but this works because the pants serve as a buffer. Nice warm day to meet up with friends for beers on a patio—but super windy!
You’re not! It’s capitalism that’s worthless
I got it at a boutique in Florida while on vacation—the brand is Nally & Millie. Very soft cotton too, super comfy.
[singsong influencer voice] come with meeeee on a ride to the lakefront
Nice ride downtown this morning. The lake was like glass.
One of the things that is so positive about the transformation of Paris is it was FAST. Converting a choked polluted city into a space for humans to thrive, move, and enjoy can be done within a decade. It’s within reach today: we just have to elect leaders that care about people more than cars.

Fuzzy colorful jackets!
