1/4 – Ever wonder where runoff from rain goes when it flows into storm drains? 🤔 Stormwater isn’t treated, so trash and pollutants that enter storm drains go directly into our rivers, bays, and ocean.
SB 601 aims to restore the same protections to California’s wetlands that the Clean Water Act did for 50+ years, currently threatened thanks to a 2023 Supreme Court ruling (Sackett v. EPA).

Nicole joined Coastkeeper in February. Excited to apply her knowledge in a real-world setting, she has been supporting our Watershed Watch community science program and we’re thrilled to have her join the team!
Coastkeeper and our partners at the Coastal Environmental Rights Foundation (CERF), have officially filed a lawsuit against SeaWorld for multiple and ongoing violations to the #CleanWaterAct.
“SeaWorld’s reckless disregard for its environmental obligations threatens the health of Mission Bay and the people and wildlife that rely on it. After years of noncompliance and pollution, we are taking legal action to force SeaWorld to act responsibly.”
