A pencil drawing self portrait. I am facing the viewer with my hands in front of my face, the thumb and forefinger of my right hand are counting off fingers on my left hand. I'm wearing a black baseball cap. It's a simple interior scene with a framed print over my right shoulder & a door in a hallway behind me.

A self portrait drawing. I'm in a simple interior, a door appears behind my left shoulder. I am holding a Canadian nickel (beaver side to the viewer) in front of my face between thumb & forefinger, 3 fingers splayed out, palm facing out. I'm wearing a black ball cap & hoodie. I have a grey beard, a bit unkempt.

Statement regarding Holy Childhood of Jesus boarding school News - Diocese of Gaylord

Regarding my reskeet of @davidbrace2.bsky.social, a particularly awful historical addition is that this church DHS is using as propaganda was a residential school that traumatized and killed many generations of native children

It's the right thing to do. Back in the early days of Cara a lot of scammers were using images, art & profile pics of legit artists, so I spent some time contacting them to get the scammers suspended. It is unfortunate that a branch of US gov is acting like a scammer.

A follow-up to this: I contacted the artist and he thanked me for giving him the head's up.

I wonder if the artist knows DHS is using his painting as propaganda?

Artists from all disciplines, their patrons and fans, must very soon form intentionally anti-AI collectives as part of a greater community of non-AI creatives...with a goal of becoming a global ecosystem that can sustain itself. Shunning & ignoring AI is possible if we do it together.

Commission in progress: "As seen from my front door" (working title), oil on canvas, 18x24". A lot of it is still underpainting, aside from the grey bricks, but things are taking shape. #art #wip

Oil painting of a dinosaur, several toy green army men, and a coin, painted on a page from an old World Atlas. The dinosaur is on one side, the toy army men face off on the other. Both sides are facing each other. the coin is off to the side of the map.

The newest piece in my collection, painted by the ever talented @davidbrace2.bsky.social. Is it too on the nose to name the dinosaur Hormuz?

Howard Lutnick tells Canada ‘they suck’ and vows to wind back trade deal with US Fraught talks set to resume to end dispute that is costing America more than $1bn a month

If the administration’s goal is to turn Canada from friend to foe, it’s doing a pretty good of it.

A photo of a stripy brown tabby cat sitting on my front stoop giving me the stink-eye.

This was Lisbon, my secret cat friend. She passed away last fall & I only found out recently. She began visiting me a couple of years ago. She'd hear my screen door open & she'd come scampering down the sidewalk & just hang with me & cuddle. Now her housemate Olive has taken her place.

Some stress days, they can get pretty bad for me, honestly.

But if I still have that urge to draw, I make it work for me. :)

Something that I've dealt with my whole life is hand tremors. It's gotten better as I've aged, but it still makes itself known when I get nervous. Not the best thing art wise, but I use jigs to rest my hand on when painting or drawing & I try to get in a calm trance state to keep control.
