The Whisky Library True Scotch Lovers Must Visit - Foodie If you truly love a good Scotch whisky, then this extensive whisky library and bar in Scotland is an absolute must-visit bucket list location.

The history lover in me would LOVE to go to this place, to hear the stories (and Scottish accents, natch). But I betcha me and @jamesonrugby.bsky.social would just end up bickering about why Scotch is the superior whisky...

Joan Semmel Is Doing Her Best Work at 93 “You say, ‘Fuck you. I'm good and you're wrong,’” she told Hyperallergic. “This is who I am, this is what I do, and this is what I care about.”

Joan Semmel's boldly colorful, intimate paintings have radically shifted perspective from the male gaze toward a woman’s view. At age 93, after more than 60 years as an artist, she believes her most recent paintings are among the best she has ever made.

Commonwealth Court rules the state constitution includes a fundamental right to abortion • Pennsylvania Capital-Star Susan Frietsche, of the Women’s Law Project, said the Medicaid coverage exclusion was the single largest barrier to abortion access in Pa.

This is a wonderful decision for Pennsylvania! And calling abortion a fundamental right is a satisfying slap in the face to the extremists on the Supreme Court.

Got our solar panels installed this AM. They came at 8:30am and we're gone by 1:30pm. 13 panels and 10kwh battery.

We can't export to the grid yet (the network operator has been flooded with new requests) but we charged our car with the sun this afternoon. Great feeling, strongly recommend.

For those attending the White House Correspondents' Dinner this weekend, a small question:

When you're sitting there at your table, do you think it'll cross your mind that the guest of honor is actively covering up his role in a massive child sex trafficking operation?

Palantir manifesto described as ‘ramblings of a supervillain’ amid UK contract fears Alarm caused by posts of Alex Carp, tech firm’s CEO, championing US military dominance and of AI weapons

You just get the feeling people like this have never really appreciated anything. There's not a shred of art in their soul. They need to go and touch some grass.

This Unexpected Drink Might Actually Hydrate You Better Than Water - Foodie Some studies have shown that post-workout, milk was better at rehydrating people than water or Powerade. Another showed it was better than several liquids.

Fun fact: when I was pregnant with our first son, I drank so much milk, my husband told me Robs would be lactose intolerant (he isn't).

But maybe there's more to my love of the white stuff than meets the eye?

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

Look, it doesn't matter how pathetic the worms at Palantir are. They do have actual power. A lot of it. The more any action against them is delayed, the worse it will get. There is a giant cliff ahead of us and the bus drivers are insane. We need to grab the steering wheel.

I bought a book about 1,000 years of history and it was the same shit over and over again - war, invasion, death. I didn't get more than a third in. Humans - mainly men - have been doing this forever. Things don't change because those in charge don't change. We'll be angry forever until they do.

The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.
