So i think what you‘re feeling is fairly normal :) and its also a process - like anything else :)

Anyways, those are just my two cents from someone who only got. into fanfic in their mid-twenties 😅

It took me a while to understand the appeal of those stories - the deeper explorations of characters, of what-if scenarios, the intrigue to put your favorites into different situations to see how it plays out, maybe also just creative outbursts.

That was a very long thread to catch up on, but if I just might add something from my personal experience: when I stumbled into fanfic, I also REFUSED to read anything that wasn‘t tagged as canon because… why would I, right? That’s not the story I care about.🤷🏼‍♀️
