I'm excited to announce that I'll be teaching two seminars at this year's Write on the Sound conference in Edmonds Washington. I love that conference, and I haven't been since before Covid. Woohoo! www.edmondswa.gov/government/d...

Signs of spring. I woke to birdsong this morning. I ate the last of the local blueberries I froze last summer. Crocuses and daffodils are blooming. For the first time this year, I thought about how long my grass is getting.
My story is featured this week on Flash Fiction Online. "Flirting Implicature in Cooperative Discourse." I'm glad to be sharing the TOC with Christine Hanolsy. www.flashfictiononline.com/article/flir...

Woot!!! Now, things will get scary!
It's good to start the day after Thanksgiving with an offer to buy limited foreign rights for a reprint short story. That was unexpected and a good reason to extend my Thanksgiving celebration.
I've been teaching the Fiction Fluency Seminars for about eight years. Today, I finished revisions to Vol 2 of 3 at over 600 pages of 11pt. Times New Roman single-spaced modules. Total pages is around 1500 Maybe I can join friends for NaNoWriMo. I have an idea... Grin.
Covid wasn't nearly as much fun as the advertisements said it would be. I think I'll complain to management. I expected a lot more pain for a lot longer.
Tis the season for Ghost Stories. Apparently, I'm going to write them no matter what I set out to write. Hooray! I love this time of year!
Pleco update. During water change, I counted 30 live fish from the last batch and discovered that others have made their way inside the filter. The new eggs have begun to hatch. Also, I'll have another short story finished today or Thursday. No. 21 for the year. It's a very good week.
The plecos are at it again. I've just managed to get the last batch on solid food, and the parents gifted me with a new batch. We'll see how it goes.
Did a reading tonight. The Cozy Cosmic anthology of light horror is fun. I loved hearing the authors reading their work. There were poems, recipes, tentacles, revenge cleaning, quarantine cats, and eldritch gods causing insanity.
It's not too soon, right?
Waiting list. There is definitely a mailing list.
Ghost Story Weekend has sold out. I don't know if there is a mailing list or not. wordcrafters.org/ghost-story-...
