A black logo on a bright blue background portrays a mustelid head in blocky form, with the head outline lined in blue on a black surface. The cheeks of the mustelid are zig-zags, similar to resistors in an electric circuit diagram. Text below the head reads "wzl.ish".

We have a bunch of 5mil lamination pouches and a decent photo printer at @pawprintprototyping.org. It looks like we only have a sombrero-style hole punch though. If that works, feel free to hit me up any time before Tuesday

I took more cursed thermal images with my thermal-thermal camera contraption at #FC2025! I also exported the raw images this time, as some of them have neat details that were lost when printed. The box-o-gen and balloon dog in particular have some great details that got scrunched pretty hard

The post might have been picked up by one of bsky's automated feeds. I made a lamp that bsky decided was a cat picture suitable for the cat pic feed. The sudden influx of bots and very unrelated people was bizarre

Happy New Year from Pawprint Prototyping 🎆🎆🎆 Here’s to another year of projects, e-waste and friends ❤️🐾🍾

I had a ton of fun making mine, and I really hope that others can have the same experience. I'm still stunned by how many people liked the project, and more so by how positive everyone has been. Getting thousands of notifications in a day is anxiety inducing but you've all been wonderful ❤️

I intend to release the STLs to verified Hyenid owners in the creator's Discord, but I strongly encourage everyone who wanted a lamp to try making one from scratch. It's a great learning opportunity for some Blender basics, like working with edit mode, mesh bisecting, and using the boolean modifier.

1 year ago 15 1 4 0

Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be able to publicly release the STLs for this. The author of the VRChat avatar this is based on has requested that the files be limited to people who have purchased the full model. That is their decision to make and I will be respecting it.

Three raw 3D printed objects on a table. The objects are parts of a hyena leg. There is a paw, an ankle (I think), and a thigh.

The mesh was taken from the Hyenid VRChat avatar by @alberarts.bsky.social, chopped in to 4 chunks, printed out with 2kg of PLA, glued and pinned together, and then painted and sanded a bunch. It definitely needed more sanding and higher print quality, but luckily fishnets hide a lot of crimes.

I saw a similar build posted by R0rek on birdsite and hyperfixation hit hard. A few late nights at @pawprintprototyping.org later and the object had been summoned.

Here are a few more shots from the thermal-thermal camera contraption at #mff2024. In hindsight, I probably should have asked people if they wanted to be tagged and what their handles were. Giving them a crappy print out and disappearing was more fun though lol

It's been pretty good! I've been running the whole setup for over 9 hours today and the 37w (advertised) USB battery pack is still at ~35% - and that's while broadcasting a WiFi AP for maintenance too
My only complaint about the Zero W 2 is that it's still micro-USB :/

The contraption disassembled with its components strewn across a countertop. A hot glue gun lays in wait, warming up and readying to attack.

I've only had to disassemble and hot-glue it once so far!
