Number of players that meet criteria in a season for a team, in 2025, in the regular season, requiring Saves >= 1 and Games Started >= 1, sorted by descending instances. Cubs lead with 5
very important stat - after Ben Brown picked up a 3 inning save last night, the cubs now lead the majors in players who have both started and saved a game
the green screen ad behind home plate is such a sore eye on MLB broadcasts, I am truly embarrassed for them. who’s looking at balls disappearing during a pitch into the green screen and thinking this is okay?

It's been at least half a dozen years, perhaps more than @aaronschatz.com @sean-forman.com @frantic.org and I have been talking about partnering around this. So freaking excited to announce it to the public. That's right, @pro-football-reference.com now has PxP and all sorts of new stats back to '78
mildly surprised that the list is this short and quite surprised Arrieta didn’t have a longer streak. he had a lot of games going 8-9 innings and giving up only 1 run
Longest streak of consecutive games, As starting pitcher, Playing for CHC, in the regular season, requiring Runs Allowed = 0 and Innings Pitched >= 5, sorted by most games matching criteria. Cade Horton, Jake Arrieta, Ryan Dempster, Bill Lee, Ed Reulbach, Mordecai Brown

Bertram the day we got him
Bert sitting extremely weird on a blanket, present day
one year ago we acquired a cat and named him Bertram. he’s very weird, and now he and i have extreme attachment issues
i have long been fascinated by the general (negative) response to that site. is it because of the way they present each trade so plainly and The Model Knows All? the paywall certainly added more vitriol. i still think it’s a great concept and can teach people how to think about trades
someone should start a baseball trade values site/account but it works in reverse, where you show how the selling team would have to value the incoming prospects in order for surplus to match up. probably lands you in a similar spot but might be more educational
the universe is pretty funny for getting me to see him put on the paternity list, checking how he’s been doing this season, noticing he went to high school in Wheaton, and us just happening to have plans in Wheaton the day after
drove past his high school this weekend and I can’t believe my fiancé didn’t end our engagement when I told her “hey we just drove past Lake Bachar’s high school”

after using J.J. Hardy this morning, i have reached 700 players. here’s where my top guys stand
looks like there is but I have never heard of him. without spoiling, he played most of his career with the Mets (including ‘86 championship) and his lone cubs season was his last, putting up -1.1 WAR at the age of 34

almost all cubs. I’m not sure if there is a 3rd former cub that would fit on the top row 🤔
We're at Fenway Park tonight with a LIVE grid—and some cool giveaways! 😎

oops all cubs. love a good staturday
When Paul Skenes pitched to Dansby Swanson today—with Henry Davis catching—it was the 3rd time in MLB history that the pitcher, catcher, and hitter were former No. 1 overall picks
The other two also came this season:
• 5/1 PIT v. CHC: Skenes, Davis, Swanson
• 5/18 PIT v. PHI: Skenes, Davis, Harper
I love that Ellis Burks is our lone match 😂
needs more Sam Thompson
