Today's book rec: "takes elements of familiar story lines -- a deal with the Devil, aliens living among us, and the all-too-real struggles of a young trans woman -- and combines them into something completely new, jarring, unexpected and beautiful." Why thank you! I'm very pleased with it—I found it at a thrift store after months of searching for a secretary desk that actually has enough surface space to hold all the notebooks etc. that I need to see all at once

Photo of a fold-out secretary desk with a binder laid on it and a journal balanced upright, both covered in cursive handwriting. Also on the desk: a pilot fountain pen, a mug of tea, a cauldron-shaped pencil cup, a vase with baby's breath flowers, and two birthday cards.

Revision plans still chugging along, chapter by chapter. Working on 10 and 12 today!

my hot writing take is that playing with POV is neat and you can do what you want. present tense first! close third! first-person-direct-address with bits of omniscient third! anything is legal if you look good doing it!!

A digital illustration in the style of a vintage children’s book. It depicts two humanoid figures whose heads are a flattened organic shape with an opening in the center. Leaning forward, their faces are chained together. Their body language conveys that, while slightly surprised, are ultimately cool with this event.

Screenshot of a Google Doc showing the last paragraph of a novel and the word FIN at the bottom. The paragraph reads:

and from the cracks of the poisoned wood We began to see that inevitable grey creep, the branching arms of soft rot, which held the wood and caressed it from within, and began the work of eating away its sharp edges and solid insides, and then there came the green cast on the surface of the path, the shallow wrinkles of algae, which bloomed larger and larger across the treads, which were caught in the pads of paws and the soles and scuffed away, but which grew back again regardless.

Observing Trans Day of Remembrance 2025 Remembering those we’ve lost over the past year.

Good evening all. For this year's Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR), TFR remembers three transfeminine authors who passed away this year: Miss Major Griffin-Gracy (78), Valerie Amelia Thompson (38), and Michelle Duff (85) 🖤

We also remember 367+ victims of anti-trans violence and suicide 🕯️
