A pair of Northern Class 158s sit in the early morning sun at Hebden Bridge station, where a canopy overhangs the platform and old-style signage can be seen
🌞 Good morning from one of Britain’s prettiest rail stations. I’ll never get tired of travelling from Hebden Bridge.
Nice - me too! Lovely day for it.
Correct! That iconic window kind of gives it away really…

It’s a garden at a railway station - but which station?
I think the most impressive thing about this is that NR were able to mobilise so quickly and take advantage of a terrible situation. Bravo!
GLORIOUS.

Most transport maps show you where things go.
This one was designed to change a habit.

I've been working on the proposals alongside a small group of passionate volunteers led by Thomas (@freewheeling.info) and Roger Clarke of Hope Valley Climate Action - we're all pinching ourselves now that Mini Switzerland will become a reality!
Absolutely delighted that Mini Switzerland has received backing from Government, less than 12 months since the project kicked off.
It's now a funded project that will become the national demonstrator of Swiss-style transport integration.
The dogs were originally bred in Bedlington to hunt rats in coal mines and race other dogs.
Side note; a member of Northern's comms team just happens to have a Bedlington Terrier, who we borrowed for this photo.
Can confirm that Horatio was a Very Good Boy.

The final station opens on the Northumberland Line line this weekend, and on Monday, Northern are giving away free travel to the first 25 people to turn up with Bedlington Terriers!

Our beautiful Settle & Carlisle line is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year! We're expecting to carry record-breaking numbers of customers over the line to enjoy those breathaking views.

That Avanti signage will certainly not be missed.
This is an absolutely bonkers story for so many reasons. Absolutely nobody is buying the excuse that the company requires its staff to own a car under 10 years old for 'their safety'.
And what about public transport users? Cyclists? Can they apply for jobs here?
Shame on you, Haart.
Finally - one I’ve nailed!! This is absolutely Corporation Street, by what is now stop NU. I’ve stood there enough times to recognise that round building! In fact, if you stood in the same spot today, you’d be stood with your back to the semi-modern ‘City of Manchester’ sign.
Ooh, where’s the studio located?! I thought I’d been around the whole place!
So, who's at Interchange tomorrow? ☕️
This article sums up the precise reasons we need Proportional Representation, now.
The duopoly might be on the way out, but stepping into the void is a toxic, divisive politics where most of the votes cast are wasted, and people are forced to vote tactically to stave off the worst-case scenario.
I won't comment on the by-election result, other than to say: the Conservative party, as an entity, is completely and utterly done for.
But Tories aren't. They're just wearing a different-coloured mask.
Straight from the Trump playbook.
How did the world become so stupid?
Just over 10 years ago, the Elizabeth line was named in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Visiting London over half term, I was astonished to see the impact it has had on getting around the city since opening fully in 2023.
That looks a little ham-fisted…

Fantastic! DLR immortalised in that brilliant Mr Bean episode, ‘Mr Bean in Room
