I went to the @barbicancentre.bsky.social this afternoon to listen to an outstanding performance of the #MadridPhilharmonicOrchestra, playing music from 100 Years of Cinema. I absolutely loved it, their conductor Fernando Furones has such joy performing, it was infectious. 👏🥰

At a conference. They use table mics to ask questions to the speaker. I will never understand why people (a) are surprised when they raise their hand and are told to use the mic, and then (b) turn on the mic and then sit/speak far away from it and not actually into it. 🙄

Watching the BBC #Panorama on e-bikes. I’m glad to see that the police is confiscating illegal bikes. It’s a drop in the ocean but good that some action is taken. They’re out of control (e-bikes that is).

It was a Christmassy whirlwind of a week! Choir Carol concert on Monday, an unexpected pantomime on Tuesday, business dinner on Wednesday, Christmas lights on Friday, a daytrip to Europe on Saturday, wrapped all Xmas presents this morning and finished all of my cards this eve. 🙌

I really need it to turn cold very soon, or my carefully arranged spring bulbs displays will all be out and flowering in the next week or so. I can already see the leaves coming through. 😫
One thing that annoys me more than I’d like to admit: when people who live in your building (which is not lots and lots of flats) don’t greet you in the hallway or communal garden. Like, WTF, we are neighbours. Be polite + say hi, or nod/ smile.
