"Reality and fantasy are refraction mirrors which shape endless images and experiences between both."

I had a conversation with Jonah Mixon-Webster in March about his new collection Promise/Threat, out from Alfred A. Knopf. We talked about hopes, dreams, and the precarity of the imagination, among other things. You can read that conversation today at The Rumpus.

I haven't let anyone cut my hair since 2017. I was talking with my brother and he said he pays $55 to get his hair cut. Does that sound about right to you all?

I have two poems in the new Waxwing. I so much love the art by Dora Ilce. I've included screens of one poem and of the issue art, but here's a link to the full issue: waxwingmag.org/index.php#top

The magic of oven cooking in conjunction with food ya hafta flip at half time. Ya grab the oven mitt and reach in to get the food and that wave of heat feels like it singes all the hair off yr arm but it remains there if ya have it in the first place and that's not even the half of what can happen.

Had it in my mind to get a dirty chai in a coffee shop yesterday. It rung up as $8.50. Decided to get some dinner at home instead.

I asked my students to tell me one of their staple foods. This eventually became them telling me one of their favorite foods. One student said "dippy eggs." I said: What's that?!? 💀
